Everything We Know About ‘You’ Season 3

This post contains spoilers for season two of You. You’ve been warned.

The second season of You dropped on December 26, 2019, and it contained a super-unexpected twist involving Penn Badgley’s character, Joe/Will, and his new love interest. If you haven’t watched it yet, then we’ll warn you to turn back now. But if you have, then you’re probably dying to know what happens next. Lucky for you, Badgley accidentally let some intel slip during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Badgley was discussing the insane twist that even his cast member Ambyr Childers (who plays Candace) did not see coming: It turns out that Joe’s new girlfriend, Love (played by Victoria Pedretti), is actually a murderer just like him. In fact, when Candace threatens to tell everyone that Joe is a complete psychopath, Love actually kills her to protect Joe (and reveals that’s not the first person she’s killed). Badgley talked to ET about Love’s shocking story arc, and in the process, he dropped that a third season is on the horizon.

“She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of person. She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of predator,” he said. “She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of…you know, dare I say, in the third season—oh, God!” He switched the topic quickly and tried to backtrack, especially since a third season hadn’t yet been confirmed by Netflix.

But now it’s finally official: Netflix confirmed the third season on January 14, 2020, with a tweet. “See you soon, neighbor. YOU S3 is coming,” it read, referencing the final scene of season two in which Joe is eyeing his next-door neighbor through a fence.

We don’t know much about what You season three has in store for us yet, but we know it’s sure to be another insane ride. Here’s every detail we know so far about the new season.
