Everything We Know About the ‘Wicked’ Movie
Release date: Unknown at this time. Per Deadline, production is set to start in summer 2022.

The plot: Presumably, the movie will closely resemble the Broadway musical: Two young witches, Glinda and Elphaba, meet at school, and through a series of events grow to become the Good Witch of the North and Wicked Witch of the West. It’s an origin story about the witches from The Wizard of Oz.
Grande has been manifesting this for years: The pop icon is a known Wicked super-fan. Her 2018 cover of “The Wizard and I” is beloved, and she’s openly raved about her passion for the show. When asked about a potential Wicked movie in 2019, Grande said, “I would do anything. I don’t wanna talk about it ‘cause I’m gonna cry. I would do anything…I would stand outside the producers’ studios with coffees every morning waiting for them to acknowledge me and begging them [to let me] sing ‘Defying Gravity’ for them.”
Grande continued, “I love that musical so much. Whenever I’m nervous about anything, I listen front to back.”
