Emily Ratajkowski Just Posted the Sweetest Breastfeeding Pic With Her Newborn

Emily Ratajkowski is taking to this new mom thing like a pro. The outspoken model welcomed her first child March 8 and has already shared some special pictures from the baby’s first days. Her latest is an intimate snap of herself breastfeeding her baby, Sylvester Apollo Bear, whom she shares with husband Sebastian Bear-McClard.

In the picture Ratajkowski has her T-shirt lifted so that she can nurse her baby, whose face is slightly pixelated, presumably to preserve the infant’s privacy and to get around Instagram’s no-female-nipples policy. She captioned the pic, “Beautiful boy.”

When she announced her pregnancy in October, Ratjkowski penned an essay for Vogue about why she wasn’t revealing her child’s gender. She wrote, “We won’t know the gender until our child is 18 and that they’ll let us know then…. I like the idea of forcing as few gender stereotypes on my child as possible. But no matter how progressive I may hope to be, I understand the desire to know the gender of our fetus; it feels like the first real opportunity to glimpse who they might be. As my body changes in bizarre and unfamiliar ways, it’s comforting to obtain any information that might make what’s coming feel more real.” 

In addition to nurturing her actual baby, Emily Ratajkowski is also getting ready for the “birth” of her intellectual baby. Her first book, a collection of essays called My Body, is due in October. Per the description, the tome is an “exploration of feminism, sexuality, and power, of men’s treatment of women and women’s rationalizations for accepting that treatment” and “the perverse dynamics of the fashion and film industries, and the gray area between consent and abuse.” No stopping this mom.
