Dakota Johnson Didn’t Let December Weather Stop Her From Wearing a Crop Top

Dakota Johnson doesn’t let the weather stop her from wearing whatever she wants.

On Wednesday, December 8, the actor wore a freaking crop top. Yes, that’s right: Dakota Johnson wore a crop top in December.

Johnson wore said crop top for a showing of Cabaret at the Player’s Theater in London’s West End. But don’t worry: She stayed warm with layers even Joey Tribbiani would approve of. Johnson paired the simple grey crew neck crop top with a ribbed white cardigan and high-waisted black pants. To make up for the skin exposure, she wrapped a black scarf around her neck.

Johnson accessorized with some layered necklaces and chunky black loafers with grey socks that match the crop top. She styled the look with natural makeup and a sheer berry lip and wore her hair up in a high ponytail with a scrunchie.

Dakota Johnson is in London promoting her new film, The Lost Daughter, which she stars in alongside Oscar winner Olivia Colman. The film, which drops on Netflix December 17, is based on the Elena Ferrante novel about a college professor (played by Colman) who confronts her unsettling past after meeting a woman (played by Johnson) and her young daughter while on vacation in Italy. The Lost Daughter marks Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut, and it has already received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics.

In an interview with Town & Country earlier this month, Johnson talked about why she took on the role in The Lost Daughter when she had other offers for bigger projects with leading roles. “Nina was this girl who is so much more than she appears to be and is so hungry to be seen,” Johnson said. “It was an honesty that I hadn’t seen in a film about women who are imperfect and cut open and not always pretty.”
