Chrissy Teigen Begs Fans to Stop Asking if She’s Pregnant Amid IVF Treatments

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are looking to expand their family.

The model took to Instagram on February 19 to let her fans know that she is currently undergoing another round of IVF treatments. “I wanted to let you guys know I’m balls deep in another IVF cycle to save as many eggos as I possibly can and hopefully make some strong, healthy embryos,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself in the middle of a pilates session. I honestly don’t mind the shots…they make me feel like a doctor/chemist…but the bloating is a bitch.”

The Cravings author also took the opportunity to address comments and speculations by fans about her pregnancy status. “I humbly beg you to stop asking if I’m pregnant because while I know it’s said with excited, good intentions, it just kind of sucks to hear because I am the opposite of pregnant,” she wrote, adding that the same courtesy should be applied to everyone. “But also like please stop asking people, anyone, if they’re pregnant. I said this in the comments and got yelled at because the internet is wild but I’d rather be the one to tell you and not some poor woman who will look you in the eyes through tears and that’s how you finally learn.”

This post comes after Teigen shared a photo of her IVF injections on her Instagram Story. “Here we go again,” she wrote alongside the since-expired photo, per People.

Back in September 2020, Teigen and Legend announced the loss of their third child, Jack, due to pregnancy complications. “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough,” Teigen wrote at the time, alongside a series of heartbreaking photos from the hospital room. “We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital.  But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack.  So he will always be Jack to us.  Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.”

In April 2021, Chrissy Teigen announced that she partnering with the national infertility association, Resolve, to create an online platform for those dealing with fertility issues and to reduce the stigma surrounding infertility. “We really wanted to create a community of people who are going through the same struggles,” she told Glamour of Fertility Out Loud, at the time. “To go on this fertility journey together because it is such a journey.”
