Britney Spears Revealed She’s Engaged to Sam Asghari, and Her Ring Is Stunning

Britney Spears is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari, she revealed on Instagram Sunday, September 12. 

Naturally, the ring is stunning. Spears showed it off in a cute video alongside Asghari. The two look so happy, and Spears looks gorgeous with new red highlights in her hair. 

“The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication, and love expressed to them,” Asghari’s manager Brandon Cohen shared in a statement, according to People, adding he is “proud to celebrate and confirm the engagement.”

“I cant’ fucking believe it,” Spears wrote on Instagram alongside several ring emojis. She added one heart emoji for good measure. Asghari also shared the news to his Instagram grid: 

“He’s ready for marriage and kids with Britney and is serious about the relationship. She wants to take that next step and have that full life with him,” a source told People about Asghari. “As a couple they’ve hidden how they’ve really felt even from people close to them because they were anxious and scared, but now it’s all out there.”

And Asghari himself told Forbes, “My priorities in life are to remain humble and understand where I came from and where I’m going. I want to take my career to the next step when it comes to acting. I want to take my relationship to the next step, as well. I don’t mind becoming a father. I want to be a young dad.”

Britney Spears met Sam Asghari in 2016 on the set of her music video for “Slumber Party.”  He’s been her rock ever since—and a vocal supporter of the #FreeBritney movement, which aims to end the conservatorship Spears has been under for 13 years.  The pop icon had a legal victory last week when her father, Jamie, officially filed a petition to end her conservatorship.
