[ad_1]

The new TV shows 2022 is blessing us with run the gamut. Want teen dramas? You got ’em. Scary shows? In stock. Another season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel? Yup, that too. When it comes to keeping you occupied as you sit cozy on your couch, the new TV shows of the year have you covered.

Of course, that means figuring out what to watch specifically will be hard. There are so many options to choose from. But from the new TV shows 2022 is giving us, these are the ones we’re most excited about. These are the programs we can’t wait to binge-watch, tweet about, and scream about with our friends, coworkers, and strangers on the street. Hey, we’re living through unprecedented times; I can scream about The Bachelor as loud as I want to!

And Bridgerton. I’ll be screaming about that one too. I mean, who won’t be? The Netflix drama, based on Julia Quinn’s novels, achieved mind-boggling success when it first arrived in December 2020.

“I think [the Bridgerton adaptation] is a first for historical romance in any major way,” Quinn told Shondaland.com. “As a genre, we don’t get adapted. There’s Outlander, which is romance adjacent—we like to claim Diana Gabaldon to a degree—but it is a little bit different. I’ve often said that it’s no surprise that Shondaland would look past prejudices the romance genre has and say, ‘Hey, this a great story,’ because they’re all about storytelling. But I think people really haven’t looked to romance novels as viable adaptations in part because there is some stigma around them —they’re by women, for women, primarily edited by women.”

She continued, “More specifically, I think historical romance has been passed over because of the expense. Historical romance is going to be expensive to do, and unlike most contemporary stories, if you wanted to do a big period piece, you could go with a classic with prestige attached to it. This may come across the wrong way, but I’ll be honest and say that while I’m really excited for me, I’m also really excited for the genre.”

And I’m excited for the fans! Here are all the new upcoming TV shows, including Bridgerton, to get hyped about.

The Bachelor, season 26

Clayton Echard’s journey for love begins, with new host Jesse Palmer setting the scene. “For more than 20 years, The Bachelor has brought the world dozens of unforgettable love stories, including at one time, my own,” Palmer said in a statement. “Falling in love is one of life’s greatest gifts, and I am humbled by the opportunity to return to the show as host this season to offer the newest Bachelor advice gained from firsthand experience and I am grateful to play a small part in his journey.” Reality shows don’t get more iconic than this.
