Alex Rodriguez Will Reportedly ‘Do Anything’ to Fix His Relationship With Jennifer Lopez

Is Alex Rodriguez hoping to reunite with Jennifer Lopez?

On Friday, April 23 the former couple was reportedly spotted having dinner together at Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles—the same luxury hotel where the couple had their first date back in 2017. Now, it seems the nostalgic location may have served a purpose.

According to sources speaking to Us Weekly, Rodriguez is hoping to reconcile with his is ex-fiancé. “A-Rod will not give up on his and J. Lo’s relationship,” a source told the publication. “He is willing to do anything to make it work.”

The source claims the baseball player flew into L.A. on Thursday to see the superstar. “J. Lo still doesn’t trust A-Rod all the way. She’s very skeptical, but she heard him out because she still has a lot of love for him,” the source added. 

Lopez and Rodriguez dated for a couple of years before getting engaged in 2019. Following a series of COVID-19 related wedding delays, cheating rumors, and breakup reports, the couple eventually announced a split that seemed mutual. 

“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” they said in a joint statement to Today on April 15. “We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.” 

However, subsequent reports, as well as the celebrities’ own actions on social media, paint a slightly different story. According to some sources, Jennifer Lopez reportedly “insisted” on the breakup over a lack of trust. “There are too many issues that are unresolved,” one “friend” recently told People. “She has been pretty miserable and didn’t think it was in her best interests to stay with Alex.” 

A separate source added, “whether or not he has cheated doesn’t matter. She won’t tolerate the fear of it in the air between them.”

Then, just a few days after the official announcement, Lopez liked a pretty telling quote by author r.h. Sin on Instagram. “Don’t make her think you care. when you have never given a fuck about her,” the post read. Fans were quick to question whether or not Lopez and Rodriguez were truly still friends.

Meanwhile, the former Yankees player seemed to be pining for Lopez on Instagram. The day before their breakup announcement, Alex Rodriguez posted a video to Instagram Stories that featured a series of photos from happier days with the JLo Beauty mogul, including one with their names written in sand. 

While fans may have seen this as romantic considering they had not gone public with their split yet, it’s important to note that “Fix You” by Coldplay can be heard in the background. The lyrics “Tears stream down your face” make a lot more sense looking back.

If all these reports are to be believed, Rodriguez may be trying to win back the trust of his former partner, but it will probably take more than one dinner.
