A ‘Lizzie McGuire’ x ColourPop Makeup Collab Is Coming

If you’re still mourning the Lizzie McGuire reboot that could have been, we have the makeup collab for you.

On Sunday, March 21, ColourPop Cosmetics teased a new collab that had Twitter spinning. “Grab your ankle bracelet, hair crimper, and butterfly clips! It’s time for some outfit repeating,” the account tweeted alongside an iconic ’90s cartoon. It didn’t take long for users to guess the beauty brand would be launching a Lizzie McGuire line.

Sure enough, on March 22, ColourPop revealed it’s releasing a Disney Lizzie McGuire Collection that’s “simply fearless and certified cute!” The collab, which will feature a 12-pan eye shadow palette, a lip scrub, four lip glosses, two glitter gels, and two pressed powder blushes, will be available for purchase March 26 on coulourpop.com

Honestly, the packaging is giving me flashbacks to jelly bracelets, chokers, and skinny headbands (it’s a good thing that last accessory is making a comeback)—and I’m not alone. “The lipgloss…..I am immediately 8 years old again,” one Twitter user wrote

Another tweeted, “No..it can’t be..You telling me ColourPop Cosmetics is about to make my childhood fantasy come true? A Lizzie McGuire Line?? *Screams in 12-year-old me.*”

That being said, some fans are extremely disappointed there’s Lizzie McGuire news that isn’t related to a reboot or movie. “Lizzie McGuire is trending bc a makeup brand is releasing a line of products inspired by/in collaboration with the show,” a Twitter user wrote. “Disney+ really fucked up by canceling the reboot. Fumbled the bag entirely.”

When the Lizzie McGuire reboot was officially canceled in December 2020, Hillary Duff weighed in on Instagram about the creative differences that led to its implosion. “I want any reboot of Lizzie to be honest and authentic to who Lizzie would be today,” she wrote on Instagram on December 16. “It’s what the character deserves. We can all take a moment to mourn the amazing woman she would have been and the adventures we would have taken with her.”
