7 Betty White Movies and TV Shows You Can Stream Right Now

In devastating news on the final day of 2021, Betty White has died just a few weeks shy of her 100th birthday. White passed away in her home on December 31, according to law enforcement who spoke to TMZ

White became a TV sensation during her turn on The Mary Tyler Moore Show in 1973 but reached icon status for her portrayal of Rose Nylund in the 1985 series The Golden Girls, which ran until 1992. From the start of her career, she’s appeared in around 121 projects, taking home five Primetime Emmy Awards, multiple Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Grammy Award, and more.

So, what better way to honor her legacy than watch some of her most memorable performances? Betty White was, after all, a force to be reckoned with on the screen. For a recent cover story, People spoke to a number of White’s famous friends about working with her, including Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, her costars from the 2009 rom-com The Proposal. Reynolds said, “I heard that scripts for Golden Girls were only 35 pages, which makes sense because so many of the laughs come from Betty simply looking at her castmates.”

Bullock added, “Timing isn’t easy in comedy, because you have to navigate other people’s timing. Betty pivots like I have never seen, making it look seamless. The rest of us just remain silent and pray we’re not cut out of the scene.”

Below, here are 7 Betty White performances you can stream right now.

The Golden Girls is first and foremost a story about friendship—and is there a friend more kind and loyal than Rose Nylund? I’ll wait. Betty White changed the course of television history throughout her seven-season run on the hit series, taking home the Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series in 1986.
