Scarlett Johansson Just Wore a Plunging Halter Dress With More Sequins Than I’ve Ever Seen

If you have a pair of sunglasses, I suggest you put them on now, because Scarlett Johansson just wore the sparkliest, most sequined dress I’ve ever seen. 

ScarJo doesn’t make red carpet appearances often, so she made the most out of this one. It screams movie star, it screams holidays, but most importantly, it screams “I am covered in gold sequins.” The actor attended the 44th annual Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday, December 5, with her husband, Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost. (The couple welcomed their first child, Cosmo, in August of this year.)

For the rare outing, Scarlett Johansson went for a holiday look. She wore a low-cut halter dress covered in sequins that reflect everything. The gown is fitted, with some gathering at the waist. For footwear, Johansson went with strappy heels with silver beading. She accessorized the dress with even more shine: a silver chain choker, silver earrings, and some bracelets. ScarJo wore her hair tightly pulled into a low ponytail with some glamorous curls. And for makeup, she wore heavy black eyeliner for a smokey look that made her eyes pop, paired with a subtle nude pink lipstick shade.

Lorne Michaels, the creator of Saturday Night Live, was honored at this year’s Kennedy Center Honors, which is probably why Johansson and Jost were in attendance. 

Johansson and Jost got engaged in 2019 after two years of dating, and they got married in an intimate ceremony in October 2020. They made the announcement via the Twitter account for Meals on Wheels, an organization that combats hunger in the senior citizen community. 

“We’re thrilled to break the news that Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married over the weekend in an intimate ceremony with their immediate family and love ones, following COVID-19 safety precautions as directed by the CDC,” the Meals on Wheels post said. “Their wedding wish is to help make a difference for vulnerable older adults during this difficult time by supporting @mealsonwheelsamerica.”
