May 22: Well, not entirely. Sluss couldn’t resist the bait when fellow Bachelor Nation alum Nick Viall brought Peter up in her Instagram comments. On May 21, Sluss posted a couple of bikini shots on Instagram with the caption, “Got my eye on the prize.” Viall got cheeky in the comments, suggesting that she should have captioned the photo “Dear Peter.”

“As far as captions go…‘Dear Peter’…would have been a home run,” he wrote. Sluss replied that he “nailed it.”

September 2: And you thought she was done… “I feel like I’m on my third life now. Prior to the show was one life and then the show was my second life, being engaged included, and now I’m on my third life living in Los Angeles, being single and kind of just making the most out of this new life,” the 24-year-old told Us Weekly in a new interview. “It’s just it’s truly been crazy. To think that I was like, engaged, probably getting married this fall, it just blows my mind. I’m like, ‘Oh, thank you, Lord!’”

She continued, “I think if [Peter and I] would have made it through, you know, the first year, I think we would have made it. I don’t know, I think that’s just me being positive. The show is just really stressful, especially having to watch all that back. I feel like we would have made it through that, we would have definitely gotten married and made it through it because we both have family values, but I think sometimes it’s not about meeting the right person, sometimes it’s about the right time and place.”

She admitted, “We just weren’t at the right time or place. And we’re not the right people for each other either, but you know what I mean.”

November 17, 2021: Following Hannah Brown’s reveal in her new book that she hooked up with Pete Weber while his season of The Bachelor was still airing (and that it wasn’t great), Sluss seemingly took to TikTok to make her feelings known.

“When the tea officially spills…” she wrote over her video lip-syncing to the TikTok sound, “That was embarrassing. I really hope you’re embarrassed. Wow.”

She captioned the post, “always trust your instincts ladies.”

Michelle Young of ‘The Bachelorette’ Reveals the One Thing She Would Do Differently https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/michelle-young-of-the-bachelorette-reveals-the-one-thing-she-would-do-differently.html Tue, 19 Oct 2021 17:00:00 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/michelle-young-of-the-bachelorette-reveals-the-one-thing-she-would-do-differently.html [ad_1]

You recently told Entertainment Tonight that “the biggest thing is that this [experience] comes with the spotlight, and I want somebody who doesn’t care about that spotlight.” Do you believe that you found somebody in your final two or three guys that does not care about the spotlight?

What I learned more and more as we went on is that there were multiple men that were, as clichéd as it sounds, there “for the right reasons.” They knew who they were, and even though they didn’t have the spotlight on them coming into it, I had this level of trust or understanding after a certain point to really see so many of them were going to be maintaining that character once they stepped out of this, whether they ended up with me or not. That’s something that I definitely had in the forefront of my mind since I was navigating the entire journey.

It’s really hard to weed out those people that may be in it for the right reasons, but also still be intrigued by the idea of what this could also lead to.

The thing is, you can take opportunities. Everybody has different opportunities that they want to take. I’m going to take certain opportunities as well. But it’s the fact of how you embrace those opportunities. Are you still humble? Do you have a level head on your shoulders, or do you have this sense of entitlement now? Or not working as hard, or trying to make as big of a difference because you don’t need to work as hard? So it’s more of “Yes, you can take advantage of opportunities, but which opportunities are you taking advantage of? And do you still have a humble head on your shoulders?”

That is so perfectly said. As we wrap up, if you could go back and tell yourself anything on night one, what would you say?

Stop saying, “I love it.” When you go through this, everybody has that one phrase that they say over and over again, not even knowing that you’re doing it. I don’t necessarily show I’m nervous on the outside, but when I’m seeing myself, I said, “I love it.” Which was very genuine because I did love it. But I could have used a synonym, changed it up. I could have put in my own lesson that I give to my fifth graders about changing words up to make it interesting. [Laughs.] Like I said, “I love it. I love it. I love it.” And then I said, “I like it.” And then I went back to “I love it.” Fully prepared to make fun of myself for that one.

I, for one, don’t think I picked up on it if that makes you feel any better.

Actually, can you spill this story? So I’m making fun of myself before the whole world sees it. That’d be greatly appreciated. Make it a drinking game. Tell everyone to take a shot every time you hear the word love. [Laughs.]

Will do. And then, looking far ahead, how would you describe the finale for us?

The most dramatic, so dramatic. But the final episode is honestly so intense and emotional. It’s going to be a lot.

One more thing, and it’s something I was dying to know as the first episode came to a close: Does Rick wear eyeliner? Because those are some mesmerizing eyes.

No, he does not wear eyeliner, but he has the most beautiful dark eyelashes combined with these green eyes. So that’s what you were seeing. Rick has the eyelashes that every woman wished she had.

‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Proves Why It’s the Best Part of the ‘Bachelor’ Franchise https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/bachelor-in-paradise-proves-why-its-the-best-part-of-the-bachelor-franchise.html Tue, 24 Aug 2021 12:30:00 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/bachelor-in-paradise-proves-why-its-the-best-part-of-the-bachelor-franchise.html [ad_1]

In the first episode of the season, each cast member introduces themselves and shares what they’re most known for from their Bachelor or Bachelorette season. Some of this year’s hits include: being smacked by a vibrator, spilling champagne on one’s own face, profuse sweating, and most of all, being rejected.

In their shared rejection, the castmembers are the most like us. Yes, these people were able to take off the summer, buy 400 bikinis, and spout lines about true love like they are doing an eye exam in a greeting card aisle. But before that, they faced romantic disappointment. The glaring, naked desire for fulfillment that we often see on reality shows is turned down on Bachelor in Paradise. These people have—if not loved and lost—been at least fairly embarrassed on television. The result is a mixture of “fuck it” and adult summer camp.

“I’ve started to learn to actually love myself,” says Kelsey, the champagne spiller, of her growth since Peter’s season. “And I’m not looking for someone to fill my holes”

“Did you expect…for you…to be working with us…in paradise?” Tammy asks guest host David Spade, trying to suss out his identity. (She later guesses Dave Chappelle.)

In Monday night’s episode Demi, a Paradise second-timer with manic Elle Woods energy, brings up the Colton Underwood revelation in the best way. “This has never happened to me before,” she says, after getting rejected by another participant. “Except Colton, and that was brutal. But he was gay!” Which—accurate, brief, fair! In another scene, Jessenia, who was on Matt’s season, shares the racist harassment she experienced after co-starring with the first Black Bachelor

This season also marks the return of Tahzjuan, the people’s contestant. She, more than any other cast member, behaves how I think many of us would if we were filming a dating TV show in the summer in central America: She overheats, sweats extravagantly, and gets something in her eye and can’t blink it out. In this season, she starts a romance with Tre, after revealing that she has gone on a date with his uncle.

This. This is what reality TV is for. Join me on the digital daybed this August. When Bachelor in Paradise releases new episodes, days feel sunny, life is simply easier to bear.

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams Are Hitting ‘Reset’ On Their Entire Wedding Plan https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/sarah-hyland-and-wells-adams-are-hitting-reset-on-their-entire-wedding-plan.html Fri, 13 Aug 2021 19:50:00 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/sarah-hyland-and-wells-adams-are-hitting-reset-on-their-entire-wedding-plan.html [ad_1]

Back in July 2019, Sarah Hyland announced that Bachelorette star Wells Adams, her boyfriend of two years, proposed during a romantic beach vacation. The happy couple shared tons of photos on Instagram that showed exactly how their sweet engagement went down.”That can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, world series kind of stuff,” Hyland captioned a photo that shows Adams kneeling next to her.

The couple started planning the wedding, slowly but surely. They’ve both talked a bit about what the planning process has been like, and some of the details about the big day are finally starting to emerge. However, everything is currently on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. Here’s everything we know so far:

The date: Originally, Adams said on the Your Favorite Thing podcast with Brandi Cyrus that they wanted to take their time. He‘s said that it’ll definitely be a lengthy, traditional wedding planning process. “It will be, like, well over a year. I mean, we haven’t figured out anything, you know?” he said shortly after the proposal. “Phase 1 was just, like, get engaged. We’re still in Phase 1.”

But then the coronavirus pandemic hit the U.S., and much of the country shut down in March 2020. Many couples, both famous and not, had to adjust their wedding plans accordingly. During an appearance on The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons Ever! on June 29, 2020, Adams and Hyland gave fans an update. “No plans as of right now. We’ve put all planning on hold,” Hyland told Chris Harrison. “All of my family is mostly on the East Coast, so for them to fly out…and just ages and of course with my health risks, we want to be as safe as possible.”

Now, it’s looking like nuptials won’t occur until 2022. “We were supposed to get married obviously last year, that didn’t happen. We were supposed to get married this year, that didn’t happen,” he told People on August 13. “So now we are hoping next year, or we’re gonna go to Vegas, or the courthouse, I don’t know — well, we’re not going to do those last two things, but I don’t know. 2022 is gotta be our year, right?!”

Not only that, but they’re rethinking the entire wedding plan. “We’re going to do it all over again,” he continued. “we’re going to go on a nice vacation to where we got engaged, we’re going to re-plan the entire engagement party again, we’re going to re-plan our bachelor and bachelorette parties, we’re going to kind of like, start a new one doing the wedding stuff.”

The rings: Adams proposed to her with a massive oval diamond ring made by Lorraine Schwartz, per E! online.

We Asked The Bachelorette’s Katie Thurston and Blake Moynes About Their Future Plans https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/we-asked-the-bachelorettes-katie-thurston-and-blake-moynes-about-their-future-plans.html Tue, 10 Aug 2021 19:30:00 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/we-asked-the-bachelorettes-katie-thurston-and-blake-moynes-about-their-future-plans.html [ad_1]

Katie Thurston: Yes! It just feels like I can breathe again and close this door, move forward, and start really living life as an actual couple. It’s all I’ve been waiting for these past couple months.

What did your mom and Aunt Lindsey say after you revealed you were engaged?

Katie: They knew I was with Blake because there were so many times I was leaving to go visit him. They just didn’t know what level. The closer we got to the end, the more that I think they had their suspicions. They didn’t seem too surprised, but they’re very happy and supportive. Even my grandpa texted me and said, “We can’t wait to meet him.” It’s exciting that we can actually do that now.

Blake, have you been in Canada or somewhere else during the last few months? How often did you guys actually get to see each other?

Blake Moynes: [Laughs] I literally have been in hiding because I’ve been living the whole summer in quarantine. Every time I would go visit her, I would come back to Canada and have to isolate for 14 days. So that’s why you didn’t see many Instagram posts or stories from me as I typically do because I was locked up in my house. I lived the whole summer in quarantine. I would pop out to visit her, come back, and quarantine. It was kind of a nightmare for a lot of the summer.

Most important, what’s your relationship like now with Tommy, Katie’s cat?

Katie: Oh, he hasn’t met Tommy, because we’ve been meeting at neutral locations. We can’t risk being seen, so we go somewhere we don’t even know and spend time together. We’re actually going to Canada this week, so I’ll get to meet his pets and his family. [Pause] I like how I said pets first. [Laughs] And then we’ll just kind of start working our way into our normal life again.

The last few episodes were extremely emotional and heavy, so what was it like watching them back?

Katie: We watched most of them together. Leading into each episode, I always let Blake know, “This is what I think is going to happen here, and things that I said.” Toward the end is when you start to really see the relationships I had; because in filming, I was very private about every guy I was dating. No one really saw me interact unless I was one-on-one. It was a little difficult, especially, with the Greg breakup. But we’ve been able to work through that as easy as it could be, and that’s because of how we communicate. We’re very grounded and understanding of one another. People thought it was gonna really rock our relationship in a bad way, and it really hasn’t.

Blake, the last time I spoke to Katie, I told her that you guys had a chemistry that was unmatched, so it was tough even for me watching Katie say that Greg was kind of her front-runner. How did you handle seeing that play out?

Blake: Yeah, the chemistry you saw with us—imagine being in the relationship where you feel it even more. When I came on the show, I was super confident, knowing what this could be. So as much as the doubt wants to creep in during those moments when you’re watching it back, Katie prepared me for everything. There’s been an understanding, and it’s important that I be empathetic of what she’s going through. I mean, what would you say in that situation? There’s two guys that left and she’s probably breaking down and doing everything she can to keep this guy around. I always thought I was the number one guy…and it ended that way. As much as doubt wants to creep in, we’re just so strong. It’s a thing of the past.

‘The Bachelorette’ Season 18: Everything We Know https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/the-bachelorette-season-18-everything-we-know.html Mon, 09 Aug 2021 16:15:26 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/the-bachelorette-season-18-everything-we-know.html [ad_1]

As Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette wraps up, fans are already looking ahead to the upcoming seasons of both Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelorette, which will next star Michelle Young.

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming season:

Young is another contestant from Matt James’s season. Just like Thurston, she made an impression right away and won over tons of fans. She ended up placing second, and her choice for a franchise lead was announced alongside Thurston’s, during the After the Final Rose special on March 15.

During that special, she revealed (per People),“I really do think this process works…When you get to set down all the outside distractions and really dive in, I think you can learn a lot about somebody. I’m just excited. I’m ready to get started.”

She’s a teacher. Love school is in session, fellas. She celebrated her profession in June, writing on Instagram, “’Hey Alexa, play ?????????? by DJ Jazzy and Fresh Prince’ ? So proud of my fellow teachers for persevering throughout a history-breaking school year ♥?”

Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe will host again. With Chris Harrison gone, these two Bachelorette vets will continue filling in as hosts. They were generally well-received by viewers, though there’s no word on if this will become a “permanent” gig. What if Thurston joins, and then they just keep adding more and more hosts? Hey, that’s basically what’s happening on BiP.

There will be hoops! Franchise creator Mike Fleiss shared a behind-the-scenes pic of Young on a basketball court, revealing they were “on location.” Love is the slammiest of dunks. We’ve always said that.

According to Variety’s sources, cameras are already rolling on Young’s season, indicating that the men have been cast, though not revealed.

This post will be updated as more information is revealed.

Clare Crawley Says She Feels ‘Amazing’ After Breast Implant Removal Surgery https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/clare-crawley-says-she-feels-amazing-after-breast-implant-removal-surgery.html Sat, 31 Jul 2021 19:10:26 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/clare-crawley-says-she-feels-amazing-after-breast-implant-removal-surgery.html [ad_1]

The reality star opened up about her struggles with Breast Implant Illness in a post earlier this month, announcing her decision to have her implants removed after her body showed signs of rejecting them. “I’m sharing this in hopes that it might help others going through something similar feel not so alone,” she wrote in the caption of the video on July 4.

“The truth is, I’ve been going through things medically with my body that I have not had answers to, to be honest,” she said in the video. “My skin has been having really bad hives and rash. My whole body is just inflamed and itchy…. I’ve had blood test after blood test. That is not my only symptom, but that is the most physical one.”

After two mammograms, an ultrasound, and a consultation with her doctor, Clare Crawley decided to move forward with the removal. “As much as I love my implants, my body is fighting them and recognizes it as something obviously foreign in my body,” she said, adding, “This is my case, my body.”

Dale Moss shared his support of his rumored fiance in the comments of the original post. “So proud of you for sharing this, love,” Moss wrote at the time. “I know this wasn’t easy but will help so many other women going through what you’ve been experiencing. I love you & with you every step of the way.”

Katie Thurston Says the ‘Truth Will Come Out’ During the ‘Bachelorette’ Finale https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/katie-thurston-says-the-truth-will-come-out-during-the-bachelorette-finale.html Tue, 27 Jul 2021 02:00:00 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/katie-thurston-says-the-truth-will-come-out-during-the-bachelorette-finale.html [ad_1]

Glamour: Who were you were most nervous to see in person at Men Tell All?

Katie Thurston: I think Michael was definitely going to be the hardest, especially watching our break-up. I kind of had to relive those moments and get it out of my system, and getting to see him and get that closure that I needed, it just felt good.

Of all the guys who are not in your final three, who do you think could make a really strong Bachelor next season?

My vote would be Andrew or Michael. They both have so much to offer and both are in a place where they are ready to find that forever love. If either of them were to have that opportunity, I would be rooting for them so hard.

Michael left before the hometown dates to be back with his son, James. “What can you say when a child wants somebody to go home?,” Michael tells Glamour. “It wasn’t indecisiveness on my part. I wasn’t leaving because of doubt in our relationship, but rather out of love for my son. I think any parent understands that sometimes you have to choose. Not all decisions come out winners. But we’ve been attached to the hip since I’ve been home.”

Craig Sjodin/ABC

Hometowns air next week, so in the lead-up to those, did you have a clear frontrunner in your head? And did that change after you met the families?

I kept each relationship very individual, but it wasn’t until hometowns that I realized, “Oh shoot, I really need to start comparing these men now.” And hometowns did make a big difference for me. Hometowns go a little unexpected. I’ll tease that for now. But a lot gets crazy toward the end, and I don’t know how they’re going to cram it all in. As you’ve seen in the preview, it’s not a lie. It’s very real. I reached a breaking point.

So where are you now?

Overall, I am happy, and that’s all I can really share. The truth will all come out August 9, but everything happens for a reason, that’s the biggest thing I’ve been saying…you deal with the cards you’ve been dealt, and you can’t live with regret or questioning what ifs.

Katie and Greg.

Craig Sjodin/ABC

You really were correct when you said you had a great group of guys, but you and Blake have quite a chemistry that’s different from everyone else.

Alright, you’re team Blake! I always ask people who they are rooting for, so we’ll see! [Laughs]. And as for Blake, I say it a lot that we’re alike, so is that a good thing or not? I don’t know!

You just have to go with your gut.

We’ll check in on August 9! I’m here in L.A. for the next three weeks because of quarantine, so it makes things easier than flying back to Seattle. But it’s OK. I do miss [my cat] Tommy, though.

I thought you couldn’t wait for August 9 to get here so you could be with whoever you choose, but no, it’s so you can eventually get back to see Tommy.

Exactly! [Laughs]

The Bachelorette hometown dates air Monday, August 2, and the finale airs Monday, August 9.

Clare Crawley Opens Up About Why She’s Removing Her Breast Implants https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/clare-crawley-opens-up-about-why-shes-removing-her-breast-implants.html Wed, 07 Jul 2021 14:14:20 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/clare-crawley-opens-up-about-why-shes-removing-her-breast-implants.html [ad_1]

Clare Crawley is removing her breast implants, and she took to Instagram on July 4 to explain her reasons behind the decision.

“The truth is, I’ve been going through things medically with my body that I have not had answers to, to be honest,” the former Bachelorette said in a video. “My skin has been having really bad hives and rash. My whole body is just inflamed and itchy…. I’ve had blood test after blood test. That is not my only symptom, but that is the most physical one.”

After two recent mammograms, an ultrasound, and a consultation with her doctor, Crawley has decided to remove her implants as a way to solve this health issue.

“As much as I love my implants, my body is fighting them and recognizes it as something obviously foreign in my body,” she said, being sure to disclaim, “This is my case, my body.”

She continued, “My body can’t heal. My body is in fight mode, constantly. It’s exhausting, it’s frustrating. It’s all making sense. My health is the most important thing. They are coming out.”

In a caption for her video, Clare Crawley wrote, “I’m sharing this in hopes that it might help others going through something similar feel not so alone. I feel that this was important to share so I can be a resource for anyone going though this as well. I know how being your own health advocate is hard sometimes and can feel like an uphill battle. This is the reality of life for so many people though! I’m just so incredibly thankful to all the people who are in my life that support me not only in my peaks but in the valleys as well.”

Her boyfriend (and rumored fiancé), Dale Moss, wrote in the comments, “So proud of you for sharing this, love. I know this wasn’t easy but will help so many other women going through what you’ve been experiencing. I love you & with you every step of the way.”

The Bachelorette’s Katie Thurston: ‘I Was Involved in a Situation Where There Wasn’t Consent’ https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/the-bachelorettes-katie-thurston-i-was-involved-in-a-situation-where-there-wasnt-consent.html Tue, 22 Jun 2021 02:00:00 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/the-bachelorettes-katie-thurston-i-was-involved-in-a-situation-where-there-wasnt-consent.html [ad_1]

But it was only two weeks ago that I told my mom because I knew this episode was coming up and I didn’t want her to find out on TV. I think, as a mother, it was hard for her to feel like she couldn’t be there for me or that she didn’t feel like a safe space for me. A lot of parents, I think, are uncomfortable talking about sexual experiences with their teenagers; and if you don’t, then you’re going to have problems going forward.

Did you feel better having told her?

It’s a weird thing to navigate because it happened so long ago, so there’s nothing we can do to resolve it. We just talked about it. But that allowed her to open up about her experiences growing up. I think what’s going to happen with this episode is so many people are going to come forward with their own stories. Hopefully we can all learn from it and just be better as individuals when it comes to consent and sexual experiences.

You mentioned in the episode that you tried to form a relationship with this individual around the time that the encounter happened. Some people may not understand why, but what have you learned about that?

I think people don’t want to fail, so they do what they can to feel like they did not fail in whatever way that is. For me, in that moment, I felt like I had failed in protecting myself and in standing up for myself. I wanted to make it feel like it wasn’t a failure. I wanted to make it feel like it was intentional. Like, ‘Yeah, we both wanted this because we were heading into a relationship.’ So you try and cope and make it feel like it was okay. It’s unfortunate that was how I was trying to cope.

It’s a survival instinct. You also mentioned you were drinking, which made you feel like you were also to blame. Why was that important for you to share?

It was hard. In the beginning, I did feel responsible because I had been drinking and we were in a situation where we weren’t in a bed together, but there was never the conversation about birth control, condoms, our relationship status. My underwear remained on. That’s the biggest thing where it’s so obvious looking back that that was not okay.

Verbal consent is so important. Even if you’re giving consent while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, it’s probably not actually consent. That’s the thing that people need to learn and be respectful of.

What advice do you have on how to talk about consent when you are in the moment?

What people need to remember is that if you’re uncomfortable having that conversation, then you’re probably not ready to be having sex with that person to begin with. If you have a good relationship with this person where, even if it’s casual, romantic, whatever, you should be comfortable to say, “Are you okay having sex? Do you want to have sex? Should we have sex?” Then the conversation of, “Should we use a condom? Do you have a condom?” If you’re not having those conversations or you don’t feel comfortable doing that, then how are you comfortable having sex with this person?

What do you credit for your being able have this perspective now?

I didn’t go to therapy. I wish I did. I think I could have recovered a lot sooner. It took me years of self-reflection. I had failed relationship after failed relationship from that incident and finally realized what was the problem. A lot of it was rooted in sex and not having a healthy relationship with sex or communicating about sex. The older I got and the more failed relationships I had, I thought, What am I doing wrong? How can I fix this?
