Sophie Turner is arguably known for two things: her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones and her long, icy blonde hair. However, the actor decided to ditch her signature blonde mane sometime last year for a deep red, which she’s just brightened up even more for a fresh candy apple shade. Turner was seen sporting the new hair color while walking around Los Angeles with husband Joe Jonas on February 16. 

Contrary to the approach of most celebrities, Turner did not take to Instagram to share her latest hair color transformation. Red is not exactly a new look for the actor, and she was seen with a deeper, more copper-toned hue than what we’re seeing in these recent photos just last month. Case in point: an advertisement for a Louis Vuitton watch that she shared via Instagram on January 14. Three months prior to the debut of the advertisement, the actor posted another photo of herself showing off her dark red head of hair. 

According to colorists that Allure has previously spoken to, wearing various hues of red and dark brown simultaneously is expected to be the primary way in which red will be worn this year. Known as chocolate cherry, this hair color plays with a variety of reds, such as rose and copper, but “rich brown” serves “as the background color,” says Lorena Martinez of Maxine Salon. Though Turner’s hair is a bit brighter than these trend predictions, maybe she knows something we don’t—or she’s starting a fiery new trend all on her own. 

The reasons for Turner’s hair color transformation are unclear. With the arrival of spring only a month away, perhaps she’s simply looking to start off the new season with a bright, fresh look.

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas started dating in 2016, got engaged in 2017, and married in 2019 in Las Vegas after the Billboard Music Awards at Chapel L’Amour inside A Little White Wedding Chapel. People reported that Jonas and Turner applied for a marriage license earlier that day. They later had another ceremony in Paris. The married couple became parents in 2020 to daughter Willa; since the birth of their child, the couple has mostly laid low when it comes to public appearances. 

In 2021, Sophie Turner roasted her husband during Netflix’s Jonas Brothers Family Roast. “Let’s talk about the purity rings,” she said. “For those of you who don’t know, purity rings are worn to demonstrate that you’re abstaining from sex before marriage. And the Jonas Brothers, they all had them. Like, I know this is a roast, and you all think I should be going after them, but I think we need to set the record straight here. No, the rings weren’t a good idea. Yes, as a gesture, they’re laughably, toe-curlingly lame. But remember—this was about more than a gesture: This was about faith. This was about principle. This was about taking a stand and setting an example. Look, Joe Jonas wasn’t just sticking his fingers in some dumb metal rings. He was sticking his fingers in costars, actresses, and even a supermodel or two.”

The Jonas Brothers Family Roast debuted on Netflix November 23, and it didn’t disappoint. In particular, Sophie Turner, Joe’s wife, was iconically ruthless, at one point making an NSFW joke about his infamous purity ring. (Remember when the Jonas Brothers were sporting purity rings in the mid-aughts? Ahhh, memories.) 

Turner also managed to playfully swipe at Jonas’s dating history, not naming exes but reminding the world many of them came from the Disney universe. I’ll just let her words do the talking. Read her joke, below, per Cosmo:

All those fanfics you wrote about the Jonas Brothers in 2008 were right: Going on tour with the Joe Jonas is romantic as hell. Alas, that honor is reserved for his wife, Sophie Turner. 

On October 2, the middle Jonas brother shared a series of snaps from their concert at Fenway Park. While the last bunch of photos features Joe, Nick, and Kevin smoking cigars, the image that’s front and center features Joe and Sophie kissing in matching Jonas Fenway jerseys to an empty stadium. “Magical night in Boston #RememberThisTour,” Joe captioned the images. 

While Sophie didn’t share the same snap on her own grid, she posted her husband’s recent TikTok from the same night. In the video, Joe films Sophie strutting the stage’s massive runway to “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees. While Jonas captioned his TikTok, “EAT. IT. UP.,” Turner joked about her audience on Instagram, writing, “what a crowd.”

Back in June, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas celebrated two years of wedded bliss by sharing some never-before-seen pics from their Paris nuptials in 2019. “2 years as your wife holy moly I love you bub,” Turner wrote in the caption of a gorgeous black-and-white image taken shortly after the couple said “I do.” 

While the couple had already eloped in Las Vegas a month earlier after the Billboard Music Awards in May of that same year, this was clearly a moment to cherish. Joe also shared pics from the evening, including a romantic dancing shot and more fun moments from the reception, including the DJ stylings of Diplo.

“2 Years Of Party Times,” he captioned his first post, following it up with a series of shots, writing, “The best two years of my life. Love you @sophiet.” 

The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in July 2020. Though the Game of Thrones star tends to keep statements about her daughter to a minimum in order to preserve their privacy, she gave a sweet shoutout to Joe on Father’s Day of this year. “Happy Father’s Day to the ultimate dad and all the dads out there,” she wrote alongside a picture of her husband next to a cooler full of sneakers. “Grab that cooler, pick up your spatula, strap on those sandals and get to grillin’. Joe, you are the best baby daddy, It’s my greatest joy to watch.”

Joe Jonas celebrated his 32nd birthday on Sunday, August 15, and he shared some photos of the festivities to his Instagram. It looks like he and wife Sophie Turner had a great day filled with cocktails, dessert, piano jam sessions, and video games. Oh, and nude selfies. 

Flip to the 10th and final photo in this carousel, below, and you’ll see what I’m talking about. A day of birthday fun usually starts with a shower and brushing your teeth, and Turner was sure to capture Jonas doing both those things. She took a mirror selfie of her pop-star husband in the buff, his hair still wet (presumably from the shower). In his mouth is a toothbrush, and in Turner’s hand is a makeup compact. So it looks like the two were still in morning-getting-ready mode. Whatever the case, I’m thrilled this photo exists. 

“Thank you everyone for the b-day love yesterday,” Jonas wrote on Instagram, hash-tagging the number 32 and adding a heart and birthday party emojis for good measure.

Over on Turner’s Instagram, she included two suave photos of Jonas with a simple caption: “Birthday boy.” 

These photos prove Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are one of Hollywood’s most fun duos. They even managed to make the most out of quarantine last year. “I’m an introvert, I’m a homebody. If I could stay at home all day I would, so this is great for me. I leave my house like once a day to walk my dogs, and then that’s it,” she told Conan O’Brien in an interview. “…All you have to do is stay at home and get drunk at home.”

Drink, and also play music, which Turner said Jonas did a lot during lockdown. “He’s started doing that really, really loudly when I’m trying to read my scripts. He’s DJing at home,” she said. “But it’s fun! I pour him his drinks. I pour him his alcohol. I give him tequila shots. He’ll text me and be like, ‘What time is it?’ I’ll reply from the kitchen, ‘Shot time,’ and bring him a shot of tequila.”

I have a feeling Jonas’s birthday celebration involved some tequila shots, as well! 

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have been married for two years, and they celebrated their anniversary on June 29 by sharing some never-before-seen pics from their Paris nuptials. And honestly, the day looked lit. 

Let’s start with this gorgeous black-and-white pic Turner posted of herself and Jonas, presumably right after they said, “I do.” Her lace Louis Vuitton gown is classic. “2 years as your wife holy moly I love you bub,” Turner wrote in the caption. 

Then, Turner did a photo dump featuring shots from her pre-wedding party, the reception, the getting-ready process, a massive pool party, and the cake. “I mean… fuck it, it’s been 2 years,” Turner wrote. Annnd I have retroactive FOMO.

As for Jonas, he shared pics of himself dipping Turner while dancing, plus some reception moments, including  Diplo DJing. Again, l-i-t. 

“2 Years Of Party Times,” he wrote in one post, and in the other he said, “The best two years of my life. Love you @sophiet.” 

Fun fact: Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas were actually legally married before this Paris blowout. They famously officially tied the knot in May 2019 in Las Vegas after the Billboard Music Awards. Turner shared pics from that day early last month. “Happy 2 year Vegas Wedding anniversary to this big ol hunk of man meat,” she wrote in an Instagram caption.

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have been keeping a pretty low profile since welcoming their baby daughter. They’ve chosen not to post pictures of her online—but on Wednesday, May 12, Page Six published photos of Turner and her daughter together. We won’t be linking to the shots.

Later that day, Turner took to Instagram Stories to slam the photographer(s) who lurked around to capture the images. “I just woke up,” she told her followers, per E! “I guess yesterday some paparazzi managed to get a picture of my daughter and I, and I just want to say that the reason I am not posting pictures of my daughter and making sure that we can avoid paparazzi at all costs is because I explicitly do not want those photos out there.”

“She is my daughter. She did not ask for this life, to be photographed,” she continued, adding, “It’s fucking creepy that grown old men [are] taking pictures of a baby without their permission. I’m sickened, I’m disgusted, and I’m respectfully asking everyone to stop following us around and stop trying to take pictures of our daughter and especially printing them.”

“It’s disgusting and you do not have my permission,” the new mom said, emphasizing her point. 

Turner’s Instagram Stories are now gone. Typically they would stay visible for 24 hours, and it’s not clear how long she left hers up for. Regardless, everyone should listen to the Game of Thrones actor’s message and respect her daughter’s right to privacy.

What Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have chosen to reveal about their family is selective. In May, Jonas told CBS This Morning being at home with Turner and their daughter has “been amazing.”

“It’s been forced time at home—I’m always on the go,” he said. “I’m always moving and traveling and touring. To be in one place for a solid amount of time and having my feet on the ground and be with my family, my immediate family, is time I don’t think I’’ll get back. I’m so thankful and grateful.”

Like many who welcomed kids during quarantine, Gigi Hadid and Sophie Turner are celebrating their first Mother’s Day as parents this year.

Gigi Hadid, who welcomed her daughter Kai back in September, paid tribute to her baby girl with a series of Instagram posts. While she shared multiple never-before-seen pics of the little one, she kept her tradition of obscuring Khai’s face to preserve her privacy.

“The rumors are true: my best friend, purpose, muse, greatest pride & joy,” the model wrote on Instagram alongside a series of mother-daughter photos. I feel so lucky and inspired bein your mama, my Khai !! An old soul full of sunshine, you light up everyone’s days! Thank you ? thank you ? thank you ?”

She also posted some shots to her Instagram stories, including a throwback from October as well as one that seems more recent. Can you see how much bigger little Khai is getting? 

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, who also welcomed a baby girl within the past year, has kept her grid quiet so far. Turner welcomed little Willow in July 2020 and has also made a point to keep her daughter’s face off the web. 

However, on May 8, the actor shared a photo of some new motherhood-themed bling, courtesy of her stylist Sydney Lopez. The statement ring surrounds the wood “mom” in a large heart. 

That ring is not the only tribute to baby Willow that Turner wears. Back in November, Turner debuted a sweet “W” tattoo on her wrist, just underneath the “J” she sports for husband Joe Jonas. 

Hadid and her boyfriend Zayn Malik also have matching tattoos in honor of her daughter. On February 4, she revealed her “post-pregnancy skin routine” in a video for Vogue in honor of her recent cover. Around the 4:30 minute mark, as Hadid is blending her foundation into her hairline, a brown tattoo can be seen on her biceps. The tattoo closely resembles a similar one on Malik’s wrist. According to People, the tattoo is of their daughter Khai’s name in Arabic.

Sophie Turner is looking back at the wildest party of 2019!

On May 1, the Game of Thrones star took to Instagram to share never-before-seen photos from her Vegas wedding to Joe Jonas. The pair were married by an Elvis impersonator right after the Billboard Music Awards exactly two years ago. 

“Happy 2 year Vegas Wedding anniversary to this big ol hunk of man meat ? ,” Turner wrote alongside a series of hilarious and sexy images from the not-so-secret event. From a dunk in the pool to their first kiss as husband and wife, the night looked like an absolute blast. Turner’s sister-in-law Priyanka Chopra seemed to be having a particularly good time! 

At their first wedding ceremony—the pair had a more formal wedding ceremony in France one month later—Turner and Jonas exchanged vows and ring pops at Chapel L’Amour inside A Little White Wedding Chapel. “I promise you, I will never leave you. I will love and trust you, all the days of my life,” they said. “In sickness and in health…forever and ever.”

While it was supposed to be kept secret, Diplo live-streamed the entire thing to Instagram Stories. “Marriage is a private thing between two people, and I think that’s how it should always be,” Turner later told Porter Magazine. “It’s not about the dress; it’s not about the food. It’s about being husband and wife and being dedicated to each other forever.”

But she’s not mad. “It would have been better if no one had known, but I actually think it was funny,” she said. 

Jonas, for his part, didn’t mince words. “Yeah, [Diplo] ruined it,” he joked in a radio interview, according to People. “I love Diplo. But he loves his ’gram more than a 13-year-old. He posts every five seconds. He literally live-streamed with dog-face filters.”

You know what they say: all’s well that ends well. Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, who welcomed their first child in July 2020, clearly had the time of their lives getting hitched in Vegas, secret or not.

It looks as though Sophie Turner is a fan of Taylor Swift’s new song that’s maybe about Joe Jonas. 

On April 7, Swift surprise-dropped “Mr. Perfectly Fine,” a from-the-vault song that will appear on the rerelease of Fearless, out April 9. The song is a kiss-off to an ex who, from Swift’s perspective, walked away from their relationship unharmed while she was emotionally broken. Because Swift dated Jonas around the time she wrote this song (2008), fans on social media are speculating he’s the subject matter. 

Whether that’s true or not, Turner, Jonas’s wife, is here for the song. The Game of Thrones actor posted about “Mr. Perfectly Fine” to Instagram Stories, writing, “It’s not NOT a bop.” No lies detected. 

And get this: Swift responded! “Forever bending the knee for the queen of the North,” the singer wrote on her Instagram, reposting Turner’s post. (Queen of the North, of course, represents Turner’s character on Game of Thrones.)

I wonder if Sophie Turner is jamming out to the other Taylor Swift from-the-vault song people think is about Joe Jonas. “You All Over Me,” which features Maren Morris, has lyrics very similar to Swift’s song “Last Kiss,” which is believed to be Jonas-inspired. Naturally, fans think both tracks have the same source material. “I don’t wanna be that annoying person but you all over me screams joe jonas to me,” one fan tweeted. 

As with all Swift songs, we’ll probably never get a direct answer on this one way or the other. But all this drama is from over a decade ago. (Yes, it’s been 13 years since 2008.) The parties involved have clearly moved on and are happy, so we can indulge in this sleuthing guilt-free.
