The best rugs are more than just statement pieces for your home. They can warm wood and tile floors, offer a soft surface for doing homework or watching TV, and make your interior design feel all the more intentional. In short, they can make any room feel complete.

Finding the perfect rug for you comes down to understanding why you may need one in the first place. If you want to create a cozy atmosphere in your living room, a high-pile area rug is the comfiest place to lounge. If you’re accessorizing a busy area, durable jute rugs will hold up to years of foot traffic. And if you know your dining room or entryway will encounter messes, washable options will be lifesavers.

Whether you’re looking to add a pop of color to the master bedroom or completely transform the vibe of your home office, we rounded up some of the best rugs to shop now.

10 In-House Amazon Clothing Brands You Need on Your Radar https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/10-in-house-amazon-clothing-brands-you-need-on-your-radar.html Thu, 24 Feb 2022 15:00:00 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/10-in-house-amazon-clothing-brands-you-need-on-your-radar.html [ad_1]

Due for a closet refresh for spring? We know you already have your favorite designers, but it’s worth adding the best clothing brands on Amazon to that list ASAP. Of course, there’s Shopbop’s limited curation, but some of the better pieces you’ll find on Amazon are actually from the mega-retailer’s in-house brands.

Fitness buffs can stock up on cropped leggings from Core10 just in time for breezy runs—roomy pockets to fit your phone and keys included. The style icon of the friend group can stay ahead of the curve with pieces curated by influencers, courtesy of The Drop. And those who are back in the office can rely on elevated workwear from Cable Stitch and Lark & Ro to step into their meetings.

With spring on the horizon, now’s the perfect time to add some newness to your rotation, whether it’s with subtle pops of color, shorter hemlines (minidress season is nigh!), or transitional staples. Ahead, the best clothing brands on Amazon worth shopping—and, of course, with Amazon Prime’s speedy two-day delivery, anything you pick up will be at your doorstep in no time.

Amazon partnered with Reebok to bring us Core10, an affordable (and top-rated) line of high-performance activewear. Rather than spend over $100 on compression leggings, you can snag multiple pairs for under $50 a pop. Core10 even has customizable leggings based on inseams and length, and fans of this Amazon brand love how many of the styles include pockets.

Core10 Second Skin High-Waist Leggings

If you’re looking for elevated workwear, it’s worth spending some time in Lark & Ro’s corner. Swap your button-downs for a figure-hugging ribbed polo sweater—the tiny collar will pop both on Zoom or IRL. And if you’re sick of plain trousers, why not try a pair of wine red stirrup leggings instead? These sleek pieces are great for wearing on repeat, and you can effortlessly pair them up with other closet staples, like a trusty blazer or puffer jacket.

Amazon’s Daily Ritual label offers timeless pieces to build out your own capsule wardrobe. From soft teddy coats to relaxed joggers, the brand is great for scoring quality basics.

The retailer launched The Drop in 2019 to bring you limited edition collections curated by your favorite influencers, offering fans the opportunity to copy their style without blowing huge sums on designer pieces. This month Amazon is highlighting Black creators on The Drop—check out the full list here

Goodthreads is one of the few in-house labels offering women’s and men’s clothing. You’ll find a large denim selection here, but don’t sleep on its wide array of knits, loungewear, and outerwear. (You can even get a warm flannel for your boo to steal later on.)

You could say that Cable Stitch offers a knitwear version of all your wardrobe staples—dresses, short-sleeve sweaters tops, chic midi dresses, and an endless amount of crewnecks and cardigans. While it’s the ideal fashion brand to shop from during chillier months, you can also snag plenty of great transitional pieces, like the two below, which we may or may not already have tracking info for.

Wild Meadow’s vibe is youthful and edgy. In addition to sexy cutouts and slits, you’ll find fun prints like leopard and tie-dye too. Wild Meadow’s pieces are perfect for day-to-night wear, whether you’re going for a more casual vibe with sneakers or slipping into your favorite heels for a night out

Now presenting basics that are anything but basic. Trade your plain V-neck tee for one with a fun puff-sleeve detail, add in a patchwork sherpa jacket in lieu of another hoodie to get you through the early days of spring, and swap nonstretch denim for a pair of surprisingly comfy jeggings (yes, those still exist). Even better, Prime members can enjoy a seven-day try-on for select sizes and colors (peep the Prime Wardrobe icon), with free returns and shipping.

Bras and panties are anything but universal, but most people would agree that comfort is a must for both. You’ll want to check out Mae for everyday bralettes and cute undies that feel like second skin. The best-selling lingerie brand can help you stock up on multipacks of your preferred underwear style, like lacy thongs or cotton undies

This lounge- and sleepwear brand was designed with homebodies in mind. You’ll find buttery-soft pajamas you’ll never want to take off, cozy sets for your next grocery run, and robes to chill in for hours postshower. All that’s left for you to do is light a candle and treat yourself to a chill day.

Baggy Pants Are the Latest Celeb-Favorite Trend https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/baggy-pants-are-the-latest-celeb-favorite-trend.html Tue, 22 Feb 2022 21:43:31 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/baggy-pants-are-the-latest-celeb-favorite-trend.html [ad_1]

Celebrities like Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski aren’t at all afraid to embrace loose, oversized clothing—including baggy pants, the latest roomy silhouette to earn a prime spot in their wardrobe. Although these slouchy bottoms are closely related to the fashion girlie-beloved puddle pants, these baggy pants feel infinitely more wearable, thanks to the structured break that makes the trousers crumple at the ankle, rather than dragging on the floor, bringing street grime into your recently-cleaned living room.

The baggy pants trend is, of course, nothing new. Old Hollywood fashion icons like Katherine Hepburn and Lauren Bacall routinely wore loose-fitting trousers, and it’s not hard to see why. The semi-structured style (whether in denim, leather, or silk) plays well with just about any top or knit in your closet, from button-downs to grandpa sweater vests, and looks on-point with mules, sneakers, or loafers

Thanks to their inherent versatility, baggy pants can be worn on a dinner date, at work, or even in a classroom. They’re also perfect for transitioning from winter to spring—yep, you can pair them with everything from heavy coats and puffer jackets to duster cardigans and cropped T-shirts alike—meaning it’s high time to add at least one pair to your rotation.

Scroll down below to see how celebrities have incorporated the trend into their own rotation, plus lookalikes to shop and introduce to your own repertoire.

Emily Ratajkowski’s ripped baggy jeans are the perfect base for almost any outfit—even one that includes a bold zebra overcoat. Take cues from EmRata’s styling and pair slouchy denim with hardworking basics like a classic white shirt and casual sneakers, then top off with statement outerwear or accessories (or both!). Denim color-wise you can stick to classics like blue, black, and white, or you can lean into the Y2K dopamine dressing trend with colorful jeans or styles with DIY-esque patches, drawings, and paint-like splatters. Low-rise jeans can give a similar sag and crumple at the ankle—or for the extra adventurous, word on the street is that drop-crotch mall jeans appear to be making a comeback. Kate Middleton Wore a $90 Zara Blazer on Her Tour of Denmark https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/kate-middleton-wore-a-90-zara-blazer-on-her-tour-of-denmark.html Tue, 22 Feb 2022 20:35:00 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/kate-middleton-wore-a-90-zara-blazer-on-her-tour-of-denmark.html [ad_1]

Kate Middleton: Fast fashion aficionado? Unexpected, but true!

Most days I cannot afford to dress like a princess. That is fine because most days, I don’t want to. Heels are fun but unnecessary at my job (this); and while I look excellent in a tiara, they do lead to funny looks at the coffee shop, library, and park. But today, good reader, today I can dress like true royalty. So can you, if that’s your wish.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, recently kicked off her tour of Denmark with a trip to the Infant Mental Health Project at the University of Copenhagen. Middleton has long been a proponent of early childhood education, and we’re sure the visit was a good and meaningful time for all. But we’re here to talk about her blazer, which was cute, bright red, and from Zara.

Middleton wore a textured double-breasted blazer, and it can be yours for a chill 90 bucks (plus shipping, unless you want to find it in stores). We’d bet anything the duchess had hers professionally tailored, which is why it looks so good on her.

Zara Textured Double-Breasted Blazer

She paired the firetruck-hued garment with a white blouse (red and white are the colors of Denmark’s flag), black pants, black pumps, a black bag, and pearl jewelry.

Look how much fun she’s having in her cute outfit. We sure do have a good time here in Scandinavia, don’t we, Kate Middleton?

Dr. Elyse Love Drops Her Skin-Care Routine https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/dr-elyse-love-drops-her-skin-care-routine.html Tue, 22 Feb 2022 19:37:28 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/dr-elyse-love-drops-her-skin-care-routine.html [ad_1]

And then at night, if I’m wearing makeup I like to remove it with a micellar water. La Roche-Posay has a really good one.

My serum

I usually only use one in the morning, especially because if I’m going to work, I’m going to be wearing a mask for a long period of time and I don’t like to layer too many things. I really like the Murad Vitamin C Plus Glycolic Brightening Serum. That’s because you get your antioxidants with the vitamin C, but it also harnesses the vitamin C pigment fighting properties with the glycolic acid. It’s a nice, all in one very lightweight serum that I use the morning.

My moisturizers

I tend to follow my vitamin C with the La Roche-Posay Double Repair. I actually use the one with SPF in the morning if I’m going to work, just because I’m really only seeing the sun during my commute. And then if it’s the weekend and I’m going to be out and about, I’ll layer Supergoop sunscreen on top of it.

At night I use either the same moisturizer or if I’ve been feeling pretty dry, I may use the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. It’s a good mix of very hydrating, soothing on the skin, but not too heavy. It’s one of the newer things in my routine that I’ve been really happy with.

My mist

I love the Avène thermal mist. Mostly I’ll use it after makeup if I feel like my makeup’s looking a little too done and I want to look very natural and dewy. I’ll also use it sometimes throughout the day, especially if I’m working from home or I’m spending a lot of time indoors. Just to refresh my face if I feel like it’s very dry.

My retinol

At night, I keep it pretty simple. I do use a prescription grade retinoid. I use one that’s called Arazlo. I’m not really a spot treatment person, but if I get the occasional breakout, I use it as a spot treatment as well.

My eye cream

I’m lazy with it, but I do use an eye cream. It’s the Perricone High Potency Growth Factor Firming and Lifting Eye Serum.  I also use the Perricone neck cream, that’s one of my favorites.

My lip balm

I’m a big fan of the EOS line of lip balm, it’s fun and effective.

My in-office treatments

Botox is everyone’s favorite! I’ve been getting Botox since my mid-twenties. I usually do an office-grade chemical peel once a year, usually in the fall time when the skin gets very congested. And then lately I’ve been really into, because we’re talking about healthy aging, things that stimulate collagen production—microneedling, high frequency, Clear + Brilliant— those very low downtime procedures. I’m not a huge facial person, it’s mostly kind of diligence skincare routine and an in office procedure.

Reese Witherspoon Just Dropped a New Draper James Line at Kohls That Has Major Bridgerton Vibes https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/reese-witherspoon-just-dropped-a-new-draper-james-line-at-kohls-that-has-major-bridgerton-vibes.html Tue, 22 Feb 2022 15:10:00 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/reese-witherspoon-just-dropped-a-new-draper-james-line-at-kohls-that-has-major-bridgerton-vibes.html [ad_1]

Spring has come early thanks to Reese Witherspoon and Kohls with an exclusive capsule collection called Draper James RSVP that will give you modern-day Bridgerton vibes.

“The collection turned out so beautiful and we’re so happy to be launching at Kohl’s. It’s very floral and feminine, like Bridgerton,” Witherspoon tells Glamour. “There’s this sense of escape and an idea that there’s pageantry to things, that we can get dressed up again. It’s a really exciting, optimistic feeling, so we wanted to do something fun, like you were invited to a great party after being cooped up inside between this very cold winter and the pandemic.”

To showcase the collection, Witherspoon and the Kohls team created an elaborate outdoor garden party set that perfectly vibe with The Morning Show actor and producer’s charismatic and sunny disposition. “It was just so fun to see [the set designers] decorating with florals and candles and all the fancy things. Unfortunately, I had to leave when it was all over because it wasn’t my house,” she says with a laugh.

“I love this dress,” Witherspoon tells Glamour. “It’s just classic with this beautiful feminine neckline and sleeve, plus a pop of yellow that’s so fun and joyful. Everybody loved this dress the most at the shoot. It just felt like a perfect kind of Easter dress or going to Passover [seder] or a graduation or a wedding. It’s just very happy.”

Courtesy of KOHLS x Draper James RSVP

While the decor may not be up for sale, at least the clothes are, which feature pastel and nautical-themed dresses, structured blazers, bodysuits, blouses, button-down cardigans, jean jackets, skirts, rompers, capris, and more. “The Kohls team said, ‘You know, we’re really missing that kind of lively, bold, joyful clothing that Draper James makes,’ so we were really excited to collaborate with them.”

There were three important requirements for the RSVP collection, starting with an affordable price point. “People want something new in their closet, but don’t want to break the banks, so we priced the clothes between $44 and $98,” Witherspoon says.

The other requirement was that it be more size inclusive, with styles ranging from XS-XXL (or 0-18). “We tried to be mindful of every age group and every body type,” she says. “And when there’s a female design team, we actually know what women wear, and we design to it, because we all want to be able to wear it ourselves. So it’s really fun to come up with things that we find are missing in the marketplace.”

Gabrielle Union Wants Us to Love Black Women ‘As They Show Up’ https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/gabrielle-union-wants-us-to-love-black-women-as-they-show-up.html Fri, 18 Feb 2022 20:22:37 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/gabrielle-union-wants-us-to-love-black-women-as-they-show-up.html [ad_1]

Gabrielle Union couldn’t have a more perfect name. The actor understands that the most important part of her job is not the glitz and glam (though she’s pretty incredible at that part too), but the power of unity. Throughout her career, she’s made it a point to uplift others—especially other Black women—through charity work, her production company I’ll Have Another, and using her platform to speak out against racism in the industry.

Union’s latest project is a panel she’s co-hosting with Taraji P. Henson and Sally Beauty on February 22. The roundtable will not only feature the two celebrity brand owners, but the Black female founders of smaller hair brands including The Doux, True + Pure Texture, and Mielle Organics. It may seem strange that these women who are technically competitors are coming together, but according to Union, at the end of the day, it’s bigger than selling shampoo and edge control.

“When I started my hair line, one of the first people to reach out was Taraji,” Union tells Glamour. “She was like, ‘Send me products. I’ll promote it.’ And always in the back of your mind, you’re like, “But you have a hair line. Are you sure?'” But then Henson reminded Union that she was one of the very first people to post Henson’s line when it launched. “That’s what we do because there’s enough space for all of us. And so we’re like, ‘Okay, how do we take what we do for each other, and expand that?’ And so, at Taraji’s behest, we created this round table of founders.”

“You just wish that you could have done things sooner to make sure that everyone got included in these kinds of projects,” Union continues. “But what I love about how Taraji and I have always moved through Hollywood and the world, is this world is big enough for all of us to thrive. And sometimes when we put ourselves or we get put in little boxes, we can’t always see what the others are doing, or what they’ve demanded and gotten, or what worked, or why something didn’t work. And sharing those resources, sharing that information, being mentors… It just wasn’t always encouraged. But the way it’s always worked with us is we are our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers. And if I have information, you have information. And if I have a platform, you have a platform. How can we expand that? And that’s what we’ve come up with with the founder’s round table.”

“It’s easy to support people as they’re winning an Oscar or winning the Super Bowl or whatever,” she says. “It’s easier to be a fan and support them. But when people are at their darkest moment, who really shows up? And when it’s time for real solidarity, who really shows up? And, luckily we walk the walk, and that we talk. So hopefully it inspires more people to do the same.”

Irina Shayk Just Wore the Ugly-Cute Shoes You Need for Spring https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/irina-shayk-just-wore-the-ugly-cute-shoes-you-need-for-spring.html Thu, 17 Feb 2022 22:06:39 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/irina-shayk-just-wore-the-ugly-cute-shoes-you-need-for-spring.html [ad_1]

Queen of rainy day ’fits and noted Ugg acolyte Irina Shayk recently stepped out wearing the brand’s buzziest new shoes—and you’re going to want to add them to your cart ASAP. Meet the Ugg Tasman X, a waterproof clog that’s just the right kind of ugly.

Before the Michael Kors show at New York Fashion Week, Shayk was spotted in olive Ugg Tasman Xs with matching oversized trousers, a cocoon coat, and sleek retro sunglasses—not to mention a surprisingly cute pink cup of coffee to offset the minimal, earthy color palette. The model is no stranger to launching Uggs into the limelight—she was one of the earliest adopters of the now-iconic Classic Ultra Minis—and with her cosign, these rain-friendly clogs are spring’s first official must-have shoes.

Courtesy of Gotham/GC Images

Gotham

Launched a little less than a month ago, the Tasman X is modeled after the best-selling Ugg Tasman, a suede-and-shearling plush slipper—and is a close cousin of the Gigi Hadid–approved Tazz Slippers (which are now sold out just about everywhere). This one, however, has a waterproof design with a chunkier sole and removable sock liner to give it versatility—and a more utilitarian vibe.

Since its early 2022 launch, Ugg’s rubber clogs have picked up steam on TikTok, where fashionable creators have racked up thousands of views by unboxing and styling their own Tasman Xs. The consensus is pretty clear: If you can get your hands on a pair, you should.

Uggs, particularly the brand’s fluffier boots and slippers, are certainly the shoes of the moment. But while they’re well-suited for winter, they’re not exactly ideal for warmer temps—and who knows when you’ll accidentally ruin your go-to bootie in a sudden downpour?
