When Rihanna isn’t turning heads in yet another jaw-dropping pregnancy look, the Fenty Beauty founder is busy curating new products and designs for her namesake brands. The moment we were invited to chat with the star and business mogul at her #FClub party in Los Angeles, we jumped to RSVP. After all, it was the first time that all three of Rihanna’s beauty ventures, Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, and Fenty Eau de Parfum (Fenty Hair is TBD!), would be under the same roof.

Earlier this month, the Fenty Beauty founder (and icon herself) unveiled the new Fenty Icon lipstick, which is the brand’s first refillable product. “We want to be as earth-conscious as possible, and being refillable is just one of the ways that we can do that,” she tells Glamour. “It’s also very convenient for the consumer to be able to pop their favorite color into one packet, bring it on the go, and apply it on the fly.” 

Packaging aside, the semi-matte lipstick shades are gorgeous and comfortable enough for all-day wearing. The entire collection features a palette of 10 different reds and nudes, so her fans have something to wear for any occasion. It’s also formulated with super hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and vitamins C and E to achieve a supple pout after each swipe. Rihanna curated the hues based on different moods, and of course, we just had to learn more about her faves. (Fun fact: the lipstick bullet was made to fit Rihanna’s infamous cupid’s bow.)

“I actually just wore Board Memb’r to a business meeting,” she says about the cabernet-like shade. It’s moodier than your traditional red lipstick and bossy enough for sitting in the C-suite. But, her all-time go-to Icon shade is MVP—a fire engine red packed with a punch of color. “I mean MVP is a red you can wear anywhere,” she says. RiRi’s well aware that she can pull off any look at any time (hello, sharp bobs and red eyeliner!), and a bold lip is no exception. “I’ll wear this on a date night, a girl’s night out, and honestly, I’ll even wear this to brunch—don’t play with me,” she adds. 

As someone who’s pretty much a walking beauty mood board, Rihanna must get inspiration for her own routine from somewhere, right? The mom-to-be tells us that her skin is her number one priority these days, and that’s influencing whatever she puts on her body. And, of course, she’s leaning on Fenty Skin for her day-to-day regime. “A huge, huge thing for me these days is staying moisturized from head to toe,” she says. “I’m using the Butta Drop Whipped Oil Body Cream all over, and I’m also using the Instant Reset Overnight Recovery Cream on my face because it’s really dry right now.”

However, Rihanna emphasizes that beauty products aside, true beauty inspiration comes from within. “You can put makeup on, but feeling beautiful really comes from the inside, and your skin just happens to glow through that.” 

Shay Mitchell just proved The Rihanna Effect is very real—as if we had any doubt. Since the Barbados-born singer revealed that she and ASAP Rocky are expecting their first child together, her outfits have been as sexy as ever, and it seems like the trend is catching on. Mitchell, currently pregnant with her second child, just stepped out in a stomach-baring ensemble that may point to a larger trend of bump-forward looks.

We’re not accusing Mitchell of copying Rih. We’re saying that she, like probably half the women in the world, takes her style cues from the “Work” singer, as she should. And we should all be thankful that Rihanna is moving the needle on maternity fashion. Why should pregnancy change how she expresses herself?

The Fenty founder said in a recent interview that her changing shape presents “a challenge,” but added, “I like it. I’m enjoying it. I’m enjoying not having to worry about covering up my tummy. If I feel a little chubby, it’s like, whatever! It’s a baby!”

Rihanna may be killing the maternity fashion game right now, but that doesn’t mean it comes easy.

While attending the Fenty Beauty Universe Event in Los Angeles with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky on February 11, the “Diamonds” singer revealed that dressing while pregnant has presented “a challenge.” 

Still, it’s not without its perks. “I like it. I’m enjoying it,” Rihanna told People. “I’m enjoying not having to worry about covering up my tummy. If I feel a little chubby, it’s like, whatever! It’s a baby!”

She continued, “Right now, being pregnant, some days you just feel like, ‘Ugh, I just want to lay here on this couch all day.’ But when you put on a little face and a little lipstick, you transform. You put some clothes on, and it’s like, when you look good, you feel good. I’ve heard that for a very long time, but it’s true. It really can get you up off that couch and make you feel like a bad bitch.”

Rihanna may have utilized oversized coats and fashion staples while she was keeping her pregnancy a secret, that certainly stopped when she announced she was expecting her first child in late January. Rihanna came out swinging with a street-style photoshoot, wearing an open, hot pink vintage Chanel coat from the label’s fall-winter 1996 show by the late creative director Karl Lagerfeld. Her bare bump was draped in jewels and body chains. 

Since then it’s been look after look after look. From this low-rise jeans and trucker hat combo to this strappy monochrome ensemble. If you didn’t think it could get much more see-through than that, Rihanna attended the Fenty Beauty Universe Event in a completely shredded, glittery ensemble by The Attico, per Fashionista. We knew Rihanna’s maternity style would be groundbreaking, but we weren’t expecting this. The singer, makeup mogul, National Hero of Barbados, and soon-to-be mother just took maternity fashion to an Ashton Kutcher in 2004 level. But it’s Rihanna, so she made it work in a way no one else could.

The billionaire multi-hyphenate wore an outfit straight out of the early 2000s on Wednesday, February 9 for dinner out in Los Angeles. Rihanna wore a boho style brown tie-front crop top with ruffle details, low-rise jeans, and a long patchwork fur coat that incorporates denim and animal prints. Rihanna paired the look with layered necklaces and strappy snakeskin heels, which she tucked the hem of her jeans into for a casual jogger-style look. As if the outfit could not get any more early aughts, Rihanna topped off the ‘fit with a trucker hat. (Now I’m picturing her hosting a season of MTV’s Punk’d and loving the image.) The expecting couple was shot by photographer Miles Diggs during a weekend stroll in Harlem, where A$AP Rocky is from. For the announcement, RiRi naturally had to wear something iconic, dramatic, and unexpected…so she went for a knee-length hot pink vintage Chanel coat from the label’s Fall/Winter 1996 show by the late creative director Karl Lagerfeld. She accessorized with glittering waist belts and jeweled body chains to make her baby bump the true centerpiece. 

Rihanna’s style always features an unexpected twist, and her pregnancy announcement outfit was no expectation. She paired an elegant Chanel coat with a pair of ripped light-wash jeans. Rihanna works hard, but her longtime stylist Jahleel Weaver is right on her level. As the singer enters her soon-to-be mom era, Rihanna and Weaver are taking the maternity fashion game to new heights.

In her first appearance since announcing her pregnancy with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, the star stepped out in a black monochrome look complete with futuristic shades, a sleek balaclava, and gold dangling chains going down her stomach. While a black jacket and black low-rise pants add to the outfit’s vibe, the pièce de résistance is no doubt Rihanna’s open, strappy sweater highlighting the star’s growing bump.

The rocker-chic look is representative of the business mogul’s personal style, often choosing to embrace the unconventional and avant-garde in lieu of traditional, mainstream brands and garments. Her edgy aesthetic can be found elsewhere as well, like in Savage X Fenty‘s bold cuts and designs.

Although it’s unclear if Weaver advised her client on today’s head-turning maternity ‘fit, we wouldn’t be surprised: last time the pair worked together on bump style, they almost broke the internet when they placed Rihanna in a hot pink vintage Chanel puffer coat. The vibes are immaculate, TBH.

In case you live under a rock or don’t have access to Twitter, Rihanna’s pregnancy announcement truly caused a storm, leading everyone (including Gigi Hadid) to celebrate the exciting news. Some fans were speculating on the news for months, leading the star to embrace oversized silhouettes to shield her growing bump from the paparazzi on date nights with A$AP Rocky.

Just days after the world learned Rihanna was expecting her first child with her partner, A$AP Rocky, thanks to a stunning street style photoshoot, the Anti artist herself posted a sweet confirmation on Instagram. “How the gang pulled up to Black History Month,” Rihanna wrote on February 2, alongside a newer photo of her baby bump and some pics from the family photoshoot by Miles Diggs.

Like many of the hundreds of thousands of commenters on the post, Gigi Hadid responded to the photos with excitement and emojis. “?? three angels ?,” the model replied to the post—and that’s where things got crazy. Underneath Hadid’s comment, which has received over 25,000 likes, fans were suddenly getting hyped over the idea that Rihanna was pregnant with twins. 

It must have taken Hadid a few days to check her replies, but when she did, she felt the need to clarify. “I just caught word of this commotion ^ ?,” she wrote. “I meant rih/rocky/baby lol.” Lol, indeed.

A source told People that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky “couldn’t be happier” about their growing family. “Having a baby is something she was never focused on, but being with Rocky opened her up to the idea. She couldn’t be happier and is so excited to be a mom,” the source said “Everything Rihanna does, she does it her own way on her own timetable, and having a baby is no different. They’re just like any other pair of parents-to-be. Yes, they happen to be famous but they’re just the cutest, giddiest young couple that’s expecting kids.”

In May 2021, the rapper described Rihanna as “the love of my life” in an interview with GQ. He also referred to the Fenty mogul as “the One” while discussing why he favors monogamy to being single. “So much better when you got the One,” he says. “[Rihanna] amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones. They’re just like any other pair of parents-to-be. Yes, they happen to be famous, but they’re just the cutest, giddiest young couple that’s expecting kids.”

Billionaire Rihanna can do whatever she wants; fashion-wise, she can pull off absolutely anything that touches her body. Even a puffer vest! Worn as a top. 

I can’t say the same for myself, because anything puffer makes me look and feel like the Michelin man. But on a recent date with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, the National Hero of Barbados wore a sleeveless puffer vest as a top and looked so cool. How does she do it? What are her secrets?

Specifically, Rihanna wore the Balenciaga Women’s Natural Hacker Cocoon Puffer Gilet. It’s sleeveless and has a high collar and drawstrings. She paired the puffer vest top with a dark brown silk midi skirt. 

Rihanna loves to accessorize, and that she did with this look. She wore black and white monogrammed Gucci glasses with red-tinted lenses and lots of layered gold jewelry, including bracelets and necklaces. For footwear, she opted for a strappy, minimal-heeled sandal in a metallic nude shade. But what completes the whole outfit and makes it so glamorous is the shawl Rihanna wore as a scarf on her head. Rihanna is and always will be a fashion icon, and she’s already off to an excellent start in 2022. She ended 2021 on a high note back in December, when she ignored the cold New York City weather and adorned a metallic purple mini skirt that was possibly inspired by Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century. 

In 2022, it will be even easier to emulate Rihanna (at least underneath your clothes), because the billionaire is opening five Savage x Fenty stores in the United States this year in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Houston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. Rihanna announced the news on her  Instagram. “2022, we coming in HOT!” she wrote. “We bout to bring you a whole new #SavageXFenty experience with the launch of our brick-and-mortar retail stores! can’t believe it’s actually that time, and I can’t wait for you to have this experience irl….” 

Rihanna is giving the people what they want: five Savage X Fenty brick-and-mortar stores across the U.S. Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Houston, Philadelphia, and Washington DC residents, you’re the lucky ones to get to experience this first in 2022. 

The singer-turned-mogul announced the news on her Instagram. “2022, we coming in HOT!” she wrote. “We bout to bring you a whole new #SavageXFenty experience with the launch of our brick-and-mortar retail stores! can’t believe it’s actually that time, and I can’t wait for you to have this experience irl….” 

Not only will these be the first physical retail locations for Savage X Fenty, it’ll be the first for any of Rihanna’s ventures. We can’t wait to see how she applies her Midas touch to the IRL shopping experience. This is the woman who breathed new life into the lingerie fashion show after all! 

The rendering that Rihanna shared on her Instagram shows a neon-lit store, more nightclub than sterile, open-concept boutique. And really, isn’t that what you want from a brand that sells a size-inclusive, tattoo-print crotchless catsuit?
