Yes, even royals wear H&M. Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is touring Denmark this week, and she visited a forest kindergarten—a school that is held almost entirely outdoors to help children understand the power of nature and its value in society. For the visit, Middleton wore an extremely lush and, most importantly, affordable white turtleneck sweater from H&M. The cozy ribbed turtleneck can be yours for $29.99. The knit has a relaxed-fit in a soft, rib-knit fabric with wool, and has long raglan sleeves.

Kate paired the chunky knit with black skinny jeans, brown ankle boots, a brown braided belt, and a deep green jacket, all perfect for a relaxing, educational day in the sun in Denmark (not that I would know). She wore her hair down for the visit in soft, relaxed curls and kept her makeup look classic with a subtle red lip. Since this was an outdoor occasion, she kept the jewelry simple, with a pair of textured gold hoops. 

Kate Middleton: Fast fashion aficionado? Unexpected, but true!

Most days I cannot afford to dress like a princess. That is fine because most days, I don’t want to. Heels are fun but unnecessary at my job (this); and while I look excellent in a tiara, they do lead to funny looks at the coffee shop, library, and park. But today, good reader, today I can dress like true royalty. So can you, if that’s your wish.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, recently kicked off her tour of Denmark with a trip to the Infant Mental Health Project at the University of Copenhagen. Middleton has long been a proponent of early childhood education, and we’re sure the visit was a good and meaningful time for all. But we’re here to talk about her blazer, which was cute, bright red, and from Zara.

Middleton wore a textured double-breasted blazer, and it can be yours for a chill 90 bucks (plus shipping, unless you want to find it in stores). We’d bet anything the duchess had hers professionally tailored, which is why it looks so good on her.

She paired the firetruck-hued garment with a white blouse (red and white are the colors of Denmark’s flag), black pants, black pumps, a black bag, and pearl jewelry.

Kate Middleton might be the Duchess of Cambridge, but she’s just like us in that she loves to shop her own closet. On Thursday, February 3, the royal rewore a recycled tweed dress for a public outing with her in-laws Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. In a rare occurrence, Prince William was not in attendance. 

Kate rewore the Catherine Walker grey tweed dress for a visit on of behalf of The Prince’s Foundation—Prince Charles’ foundation which supports the arts—in London. The dress falls to her knees, has long sleeves, and is fitted in the bodice with an A-line skirt that expands below the waist. The dress also has a few key details that make it memorable: a bold, black collar, and a belt at the waist with a black square buckle. The Duchess paired the look with a small black handbag, opaque black tights, and black pointed-toe heels. Kate wore her hair in a halfway updo with circular silver and black drop earrings and a ring.

Kate Middleton turns 40 on Sunday, January 9, and for the occasion, The National Portrait Gallery released three new, stunning photos of her. 

You can see them all on the official Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Instagram page. One is an up-close black-and-white shot. Another has Middleton in a red, one-shoulder dress. And the last one, a black-and-white long shot (see here), actually contains some subtle tributes to Princess Diana. 

Eagle-eyed royals fans will notice the diamond and pearl drop earrings Middleton wears in the photo previously belonged to Princess Diana. Also, the Duchess of Cambridge is wearing that iconic sapphire engagement ring, another nod to her late mother-in-law. 

Kate Middleton has frequently paid tribute to Princess Diana with her style and jewelry choices. We have an entire gallery of examples. Last July, a statue was unveiled in honor of the Princess of Wales on what would’ve been her 60th birthday. Prince William and Prince Harry reunited for the occasion. 

“Today, on what would have been our mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength, and character—qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better,” Prince William and Prince Harry said in a statement, according to People.

The statement went on, “Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy.”

“Later this week my brother and I are recognizing what would have been our mum’s 60th birthday, and she would be so proud of you all for living an authentic life with purpose and with compassion for others,” Prince Harry said at the 2021 Diana Awards before the unveiling, according to Harper’s Bazaar. (The Diana Awards honors young activists.) “Our mum believed that young people have the power to change the world. She believed in your strength, because she saw it day in and day out. And in the faces of young people exactly like you, she witnessed a boundless enthusiasm and passion, and I, too, see those same values shine through.”

To ring in 2022, Kate Middleton and Prince William, a.k.a. the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, shared a rare photo of themselves holding each other’s hands romantically in the back of a car. 

The photo is not very scandalous, but for royals like Kate Middleton and Prince William, this is the equivalent of Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker making out with visible tongue in public. On New Year’s Eve, the official Instagram account for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (@dukeandduchessofcambridge) shared the photo, which was taken the evening of the No Time to Die film premiere in London back in September.

Kate Middleton and Prince William had a pretty low-key holiday season, so sharing a memory from a happier time a few months ago is spot-on and deeply relatable. Due to a worldwide surge in COVID-19 cases, the queen canceled the royal family’s usual gathering in Sandringham. “This Christmas will be different to what so many of us had planned,” the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wrote in an Instagram post on December 25. “From those who are alone or having to isolate away from loved ones, to the incredible people supporting our NHS and caring for those most in need—we are thinking of you. Hey, even Kris Jenner was willing to cancel her big annual holiday bash.

“Kris will still get her daughters and grandkids together on Christmas Eve, but that’s it,” a source also told TMZ.

On December 24, Kim Kardashian shared some adorable Christmas photos featuring Kris, Khloé Kardashian, Khloé’s 3-year-old daughter True, Rob Kardashian’s 5-year-old daughter Dream, and Kim’s children: 8-year-old North, 6-year-old Saint, 3-year-old Chicago, and 2-year-old Psalm, according to People.

While that part of the Kardashian-Jenner clan was decked out in PJs, Kendall Jenner shared a more glam series of photos, wearing a full-on gown in front of two Christmas trees.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wished fans a happy holiday by sharing a family photo featuring their 2-year-old son Archie and six-month-old daughter, Lilibet Diana. It was the first image they have shared of their newest addition, who was born in June.

“This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa’, and Lili made us a family,” they wrote underneath the photo taken by Alexi Lubomirski. “As we look forward to 2022, we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honor and protect families – from those being relocated from Afghanistan, to American families in need of paid parental leave.”

The couple finished their holiday message, writing, “Wishing you a happy holiday season and a prosperous New Year, from our family to yours! As ever, Harry, Meghan, Archie & Lili.”

Kate Middleton doesn’t seem to run out of hidden talents.

The Duchess of Cambridge, who is already an accomplished photographer, just showed off another artistic skill during a very special Christmas broadcast. Apparently, she’s a pianist!

Royal Carols: Together At Christmas is a special TV broadcast featuring musical performances by some of Britain’s favorite stars, including the Duchess herself. Per Whattowatch, the special was recorded earlier this month at Westminster Abbey to pay tribute to all the hard work individuals and groups have done during the pandemic. 

Middleton reportedly spearheaded her first public performance with one of her favorite new singer-songwriters, Tom Walker…and she was basically a prodigy. A source revealed to People that the pair only rehearsed the song together once in London and recorded the performance in just “a couple of takes. The end result is just lovely. 

After meeting Walker at a charity event this past October, the source shared that the Duchess asked him to play “For Those Who Can’t Be Here” with her because the song has “such pertinence for so many this year.” Walker told People that it was a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience.

“I thought she absolutely smashed the performance; it’s not easy to just jump behind a piano with a bunch of musicians you’ve never played with before and record live takes to the camera, but she completely nailed it,” he said. “She’s such a lovely, kind, and warm-hearted person and she took the time to thank everyone personally for the opportunity to play together. It was a crazy pinch-yourself kind of day for me, to be in such a beautiful venue playing alongside the Duchess with my band and a string quartet. I certainly won’t forget that in a hurry!”

Kate Middleton has played piano since she was a child and found comfort in playing music during the pandemic, according to sources. Though this was her first time tickling the ivories in such a public manner, it hopefully won’t be her last!

Kate Middleton just repeated another outfit!

Back in November, the Duchess of Cambridge attended the Royal Variety performance in London which featured performances from Ed Sheeran, Rod Stewart, and James Blunt. The annual Royal Variety Performance supports the Royal Variety Charity, which raises money to help entertainers throughout the U.K. who “need help and assistance as a result of old age, ill-health, or hard times,” per People. A recorded version of the event aired Sunday night on ITV HD.

For the occasion, Middleton wore an emerald green Jenny Packham gown that she originally donned during a tour of Pakistan back in 2019. The striking green glittery column dress with long sleeves is a perfect fit for the holidays, and a staple anyone – even the Duchess of Cambridge – can re-wear for years to come. 

The Duchess styled the look with gold drop earrings and made the whole outfit monochrome with a green sequin clutch and green pointed-toe heels. She wore her signature brown hair in a side part and to the side with gorgeous, glamorous curls. For makeup, she kept it simple with some black eyeliner, blush, and a berry lip to match.

This demonstrates how slight styling adjustments can change up a look. The dress is a memorable piece that is so sparkly it does not require much accessorizing, but with little tweaks in hair and accessories, even a sequin staple like this can look different over the years. 

This is just the most recent time Kate Middleton has recycled wardrobe staples. In October, Middleton attended the 2021 Earthshot Prize awards ceremony wearing a fan-favorite from a decade ago: an Alexander McQueen dress she wore to a black-tie BAFTA event in Los Angeles back in 2011. She wore the lilac McQueen gown in July 2011, a few months after her wedding to Prince William. We love to see it.

The reported estrangement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from the royal family remains a source of stress for Kate Middleton and Prince William, per a People insider.

After the Sussexes relocated to California, marking an unprecedented exit from being working members of the royal family, the Duchess of Cambridge has reportedly been “really, really upset about it all,” according to People. “Everything with Harry and Meghan has been hugely stressful, but if anything, it’s pulled [her and William] closer together. She was upset about it because [William] was so upset. Seeing her husband so distraught was tough.”

In March, Meghan and Harry gave a tell-all interview to Oprah Winfrey, revealing allegations of mistreatment and racism from the rest of the royal family. During the chat Markle expanded on rumors that she and Kate Middleton had a “feud.” Prince William did not respond favorably to the interview’s allegations, telling a Sky News reporter on March 11, “We are very much not a racist family,” according to People.

Markle doesn’t intend for the public to pick sides between herself and Middleton, though. As she told Winfrey, “If you love me, you don’t have to hate her. And if you love her, you don’t have to hate me.”

For months, reports have showed optimism about the Duchesses rekindling their relationship. An insider told Us Weekly in August that the Duchesses were closer than ever. perhaps even starting a Netflix collaboration on “a documentary that will spotlight Kate’s charity work and the huge impact she’s made with her philanthropy.” However, Omid Scobie, coauthor of Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, called those reports “wishful thinking.” 

For now, we know the Duchess of Cambridge remains focused on quality time with her family, especially with the family Christmas card picture that was taken on a private vacation to Jordan.
