Iris Apatow, daughter of writer-director Judd Apatow and actor Leslie Mann and the younger sister of Euphoria’s Maude Apatow, is now Instagram official with Ryder Robinson, eldest son of rom-com queen Kate Hudson, who is herself the daughter of comedy icon Goldie Hawn. Cute! 

Iris has appeared in a number of projects including Knocked Up, This Is 40, Love, and Funny People. 

Robinson, whose father is Chris Robinson of the band The Black Crowes, made the relationship public on Tuesday, February 15 when he uploaded two sweet snaps from a date night to his Instagram. In the first he kisses his girlfriend on the cheek, and he captioned the post with a red heart emoji, which is Gen Z speak for, “We are going steady.” Not for nothing, Iris’s red lip game is on point.

The post immediately got the stamp of approval from the important parties: Iris Apatow commented two smiley emojis, Mann added three red hearts, Maude wrote “so cute :’),” and Kate Hudson added “sweets” with the two-connected-pink-hearts emoji. Even Jennifer Meyer, unofficial head of the Hollywood moms—she’s Tobey Maguire’s ex and a very successful jewelry designer in her own right—commented the three red heart emojis. The queen has spoken!

But all snarking aside, these two seem very happy and cute together, and we wish them all the best! Have fun being young together—you both seem really good at it.

Amid the many recent high-profile breakups (Cory Booker and Rosario Dawson! Julia Fox and Kanye West! Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers!), it’s nice to see that love is still alive and well in the Hollywood Hills.

Kate Hudson, daughter of Goldie Hawn, is ensuring the comedienne dynasty continues with her daughter, Rani Rose. At two years old, she already has at least one reliably funny bit under her belt.

In a video posted to Hudson’s Instagram on January 25, mother and daughter wear matching star-spangled pajamas as the actor asks her toddler, “Rani, what do you think is funny?” Rani smiles and laughs at the camera in response, prompting Hudson to say, “Show me your sour face! It’s so funny. Show me.” Rani pinches one eye shut and sticks her tongue out, sending them both into giggles.

Hudson captioned the video, “Parenting goal number one: make sure they’re funny #ranirose?.” Check that off the list, indeed! The kid’s got the stuff! She already has celebrity fans, like Paris Hilton and Ashley Benson, who both commented on the video with heart-eye emojis. Reese Witherspoon commented, “What a little joker !! ?”

Kate Hudson shares Rani with her boyfriend, musician and producer Danny Fujikawa. Her two sons are from previous relationships with Chris Robinson and Matt Bellamy. The mother of three recently opened up about the unique experience of raising children with different sets of parents.

“I’ve got multiple dads, I’ve got kids all over the place,” she joked on Today. “The only expectations I really have that are really high in my life [are] with my kids. And with, like, family stuff. Other than that, it’s, like, I just let it go. I work my ass off and then I walk away and I hope for the best.”

As for how the pandemic has impacted her blended family, she admitted, “The reality is that there are days that are great and there are days that I have to remind myself to be grateful.” Just like any mom, she gets overwhelmed. “When you have so many kids, sometimes you have those moments where you’re hiding in your bathroom going, ‘Please, please, get me out of here!’” she said. All the more reason to train your kids to tell jokes! Laughter is the ultimate stress reliever.

Kate Hudson opened up about raising her three kids with three different co-parents. 

In a new interview with USA Today that aired on January 24, the actor opened up about her blended family. Hudson shares a 17-year-old Ryder son with ex-husband Chris Robinson, a 9-year-old son Bingham with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy, and a 2-year-old daughter Rani Rose with Danny Fujikawa.

“I’ve got multiple dads, I’ve got kids all over the place,” she said with a laugh. “The only expectations I really have that are really high in my life is with my kids. And with like family stuff. Other than that, it’s like, I just let it go. I work my ass off and then I walk away and I hope for the best.”

Some days, Hudson admits she wants to hide in her bathroom, especially amid lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. “I wanna be, like, ‘Yeah, it’s so great and we’re figuring out,’ but the reality is that there are days that are great and there are days that I have to remind myself to be grateful,” Hudson said. “I never thought in a million years that I’d spend a year in one place. When you have so many kids, sometimes you have those moments where you’re hiding in your bathroom going, ‘Please, please, get me out of here!'”

She added, “I just remind myself there’s a lot of people out there who have lost their loved ones, and we just gotta stay in for a bit.” 

Kate Hudson never knew her own father, musician Bill Hudson. The actor and her brother, Oliver Hudson, were raised by her mother, Goldie Hawn, and stepfather, Kurt Russell (though Hawn and Russell never married). “I think that estrangement is unfortunately quite common,” she said in the interview. “I think it’s important for people to talk about that. If they can’t reconnect or if it’s too challenging, that it’s OK, right?”

The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star did concede that her relationship with her birth father is “a 41-year-old issue.”

“I have a beautiful mother. I have a stepfather who stepped in and played a huge, huge part in sharing what it is to have a dependable father figure in our life,” she said. “But it doesn’t take away from the fact that we didn’t know our dad.”

She continued, “I think as I’ve sort of gone through that process…I kind of look at my dad and I’m, like, ‘You know, the love has never ever gone anywhere. It’s always been there, no matter what those complications have been.”
