Emily Blunt is a bonafide movie star—there’s no denying that. Her breakout role as snobby magazine assistant Emily (yes, really) in The Devil Wears Prada cemented her status as one of Hollywood’s up-and-coming stars. In the 15 years since the movie’s release, she’s starred in a number of blockbuster films and is one half of a power couple (thanks to husband John Krasinski). She’s obviously famous, but there are two people in the world who are still clueless about that fact: her daughters, Hazel, and Violet.

“Hazel came home the other day and we were in the kitchen and she goes, ‘Are you famous?'” Blunt tells the Sunday Times in a new interview. “And I’d never heard her… we’ve never said that word in our house. We don’t talk about it.”

The Quiet Place actor continues, “Someone at school had clearly said it. I was like, ‘Um…not really, I don’t think I am. Did someone say that to you, Haze?’ She said, ‘Yeah,’ but then she wouldn’t divulge much more, you know, but it’s weird. It’s weird.”

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski tied the knot in 2010. Despite her and her husband’s massive success in the entertainment industry, she wants her daughters to only see them as “mom and dad.”

She adds, “I don’t want my kids to feel any more important or special or that there’s a glare on them any more than other kids. If they can remain oblivious for the longest time, I’d be thrilled. They don’t even want to see what I do. They don’t even like it when I put on makeup. They don’t like any of it! They just want me to be their mummy.”

When it comes to the girls acting alongside their parents, Blunt says, “God no—no! Please God keep them off the stage.”

Emily Blunt Just Gave a Rare Update About Her Two Daughters With John Krasinski https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/emily-blunt-just-gave-a-rare-update-about-her-two-daughters-with-john-krasinski.html Thu, 10 Dec 2020 21:30:05 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/emily-blunt-just-gave-a-rare-update-about-her-two-daughters-with-john-krasinski.html [ad_1]

Emily Blunt just gave us a glimpse at her home life amid the coronavirus pandemic with husband John Krasinski and their two daughters, Hazel, six, and Violet, four.

The actor, who is currently promoting her new movie with Jamie Dornan called Wild Mountain Thyme, opened up to People magazine about how her children help her stay afloat amid stay-at-home orders.

“Being around little ones during the pandemic was such a saving grace because they would just be bouncing around the house, and your job is to protect them from what is happening and make sure their life remains joyful,” she told the publication. “That was a pretty great lifeline for John and me during the pandemic, for sure.”

While Blunt and Krasinski have not shied away from displaying their affection for each other—especially when they promoted their movie A Quiet Place in 2018—the actors are pretty low-key when it comes to revealing information about their family.

“Pics of kids should only come direct from parents,” Krasinski wrote back in 2014, three months after his first daughter was born, alongside the first official photo of his baby girl. “So I’m thrilled to introduce you guys to Hazel!!!”

Since then, both parents have largely kept photos of their children off social media. However, Blunt did reveal two years later she was annoyed that Hazel was developing an American accent. “Hazel had my accent for a really long time and would say things like ‘water’ [in a British tone], which I was really proud of,” Blunt told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. “And then the other day she goes [in a whiny American accent], ‘Can I have some water?’ I was like, ‘Nooo!’”

Last we heard—before any kind of lockdown—Blunt was working on teaching her daughters empathy. “I encourage empathy in my kids and embracing differences and not being scared of them, or teasing people for them, you know?” she told Marie Claire back in February. “Making mistakes, or feeling like you have something that causes you to make mistakes, is a good thing. It’s how you learn, and it’s how you grow.”

As for what life at home looks like for the family now, it’s probably not all that different than yours. “We watched The Crown in three days, and then we were bereft,” Blunt told People. “That’s the other thing about the pandemic: how lost and broken you feel once your favorite show has ended. Like, what should I do with my life now?”
