Future Sophie (Kim Cattrall) promised us in the How I Met Your Father pilot that Present Sophie (Hilary Duff) would hook up with a lot of dudes before settling down with the father of her future son. And it looks like the show will make good on that promise!

Hulu just gave the green light to a second, 20-episode season of the sitcom, which follows the dating adventures of twenty- and thirty-something New Yorkers in the age of Tinder.

“[Series writers] Isaac [Aptaker] and Elizabeth [Berger]’s inspired vision for How I Met Your Father has proven to be true appointment viewing that fans cannot get enough of week to week. The lives of these characters, as portrayed by the immensely talented cast led by Hilary Duff, are just starting to unfold and we’re thrilled to bring more of this group’s journey to our viewers with a supersized second season,” Jordan Helman, Head of Scripted Content, Hulu Originals, told Deadline in February 2022.

Here’s everything we know about what’s next:

Hilary Duff Looks Stunning With Waist-Length, Barbie Blonde Hair https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/hilary-duff-looks-stunning-with-waist-length-barbie-blonde-hair.html Thu, 13 Jan 2022 21:49:49 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/hilary-duff-looks-stunning-with-waist-length-barbie-blonde-hair.html [ad_1]

Everybody dreams of having unlimited access to hyper-lengthy hair by way of professionally installed extensions…right? Maybe that’s just me. Regardless of your stance on long versus short hair, you’ve got to see Hilary Duff’s current hair situation for the upcoming How I Met Your Father series because it’s genuinely jaw-dropping.

The actor posted a slideshow of photos teasing the release of the How I Met Your Mother spin-off, and in them she’s sporting what is possibly the longest hair she’s ever worn. “Glam with the bestest – it has been so much fun doing press for HIMYF – my heart is full and it feels so good to be out there again in the world promoting something I am so proud of…with this giant mane,” Duff captioned the post.

She credits Los Angeles hairstylist Nikki Lee—Duff’s long-term stylist—for the “giant mane,” which flows all the way down to her waist and is voluminous enough to cover her front from shoulder to shoulder. Lee confirmed on her own Instagram account that the extensions are from Great Lengths (which I’ve actually had before; can confirm: They are luxurious).

Quite simply put, I am drooling. There is length. There is dimension. There is full-blown magnitude to this hair. I’m a dark brunette with a chin-length bob, so it’ll pretty much never happen, but I will dream of having Duff’s hair for months (okay, probably weeks until I find another celebrity hairstyle to fixate on).

If you want to see Duff’s glorious extensions in action, you can watch How I Met Your Father on Hulu come January 18. Seeing as I loathe almost all reboots and spin-offs, I honestly wasn’t planning on watching it—but after seeing this hair…I might be tempted after all.

Hilary Duff Re-Created Her 2007 Dance That’s Going Viral on TikTok https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/hilary-duff-re-created-her-2007-dance-thats-going-viral-on-tiktok.html Mon, 15 Nov 2021 21:39:10 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/hilary-duff-re-created-her-2007-dance-thats-going-viral-on-tiktok.html [ad_1]

Yes, Hilary Duff has seen your TikToks re-creating her 2007 “With Love” dance. And she’s ready to respond.

For the unfamiliar, let me back up and give some context: In 2007, Hilary Duff released her single “With Love” and, like most pop stars, promoted it on every talk show imaginable. In most of the performances, Duff gave us some choreography, including a small combination that has since lit the internet on fire. It’s a rather, erm, robotic dance, with Swift doing lots of arm-ography and serving face. People on TikTok are obsessed with it, and they’ve been re-creating it left and right:

And now Duff herself has responded to the trend—by bringing back the dance herself. “So I can stop receiving text about this….✌? also….. I tik toked….and it was a 12% kinda day,” Duff wrote on Instagram, sharing the TikTok she made of her (new) take on the dance.

I wonder if any of Duff’s How I Met Your Father costars asked her about this TikTok trend. The actor-singer is set to star in a Hulu spin-off of How I Met Your Mother alongside Francia Raisa (Grown-ish), Tom Ainsley (The Royals), Tien Tran (Space Force), and Suraj Sharma (God Friended Me).

“I’ve been incredibly lucky in my career to play some wonderful characters and I’m looking forward to taking on the role of Sophie,” Duff said about the show. “As a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother, I’m honored and even a little nervous that Carter and Craig would trust me with the sequel of their baby. Isaac and Elizabeth are brilliant, and I can’t wait to work alongside them and all of their genius. Just fangirling over here getting to join the Hulu Originals and 20th families. I realize these are big shoes to fill and I’m excited to slip my 6½’s in there.” For more info on it, click here

Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, Ashley Tisdale, and Meghan Trainor Had a Playdate With Their Kids https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/hilary-duff-mandy-moore-ashley-tisdale-and-meghan-trainor-had-a-playdate-with-their-kids.html Mon, 19 Jul 2021 13:47:00 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/hilary-duff-mandy-moore-ashley-tisdale-and-meghan-trainor-had-a-playdate-with-their-kids.html [ad_1]

Guess our invitation got lost in the mail? Hilary Duff just hosted an adorable playdate for a bunch of celebrity moms and their babies, complete with a music class and, we’d imagine, a lot of bonding over the whole having-a-newborn-during-a-pandemic thing.

Ashley Tisdale posted Instagram Stories from the get-together, showing all the babies on colorful blankets. Basic wooden instruments provided the building blocks for a “music class” with Sweet Potato Music L.A., Leah Paul’s “play-based class…that emphasizes early musical skill building and fun,” per Instagram.

Instagram:@ashleytisdale

Tisdale’s own daughter, Jupiter, got (lovingly) called out for her attitude by Hilary Duff, who posted a picture of the little one giving the “side eye” to Duff’s own daughter, Mae. Caption this pic:

Obviously, pop star Meghan Trainor was excited to share her passion with her young son, who looked pretty chilled out in a group photo. He’s on the grass in the shade, and he’s a baby. Life’s good! “Thank you, @SweetPotatoMusicLA for our first music class,” she wrote on IG. (Please collab with Hilary and Mandy, Meg! We need the bop ASAP!)

Instagram:@meghan_trainor

This Is Us star Mandy Moore brought her son, August Harrison Goldsmith, a longtime friend of Mae’s (well, relatively, in baby terms). Moore and Duff got their kids together when Mae was just five weeks old. It truly takes a village.

Also in attendance were Janice Gott and makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan Fisher, whose child, Poppy, should be a model already. Look at this baby finding the camera lens! Babies can’t do that! What a pro!

Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore Introduced Their Newborns: ‘Love Story for the Ages’ https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/hilary-duff-and-mandy-moore-introduced-their-newborns-love-story-for-the-ages.html Sun, 02 May 2021 19:47:36 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/hilary-duff-and-mandy-moore-introduced-their-newborns-love-story-for-the-ages.html [ad_1]

Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore are hoping that love is in the air.

On May 1, Moore introduced her 2-month-old son, August, to Duff’s 5-week-old daughter, Mae James, and the photo is ridiculously cute. “Love is in the air,” the This Is Us star wrote on Instagram stories, alongside the shot of the newborn babies. Although, based on Mae’s expression, I’m not so sure she’s right about that!

Instagram/@mandymoore

Moore revealed she gave birth to her first child with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, on February 23, 2021.  In a picture posted on Instagram, Moore shared that her son’s name is August Harrison Goldsmith, but that he’ll go by Gus.

“Gus is here ????. Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents,” she wrote. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined. M + T.”

Duff even commented on Goldsmith’s photo, writing, “Congratulations to Gus’ mom and dad!!!!! Welcome to the world dude!” Her husband Matthew Koma added, “DAD!!!!”

While Hilary Duff is not a brand-new mom like Moore—she shares a son, Luca, with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie, and a daughter, Banks Violet, with Koma—the Younger star just welcomed her second daughter, Mae James, on March 24.

“Mae James Bair-We LOVE you beauty 3-24-21,” she wrote in the caption of a sweet black-and-white family photo.

Duff later opened up about why she wanted her son in the room while she delivered her baby at home. “I’m really big on being open and honest with him about how strong women are and what childbirth looks like,” she said on the Informed Pregnancy podcast, per People. ”[Luca] knows all about periods, and it’s important for me to normalize that conversation with him for all the women that are going to be in his life.”

A ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Sequel Series Starring Hilary Duff Is Coming to Hulu https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/a-how-i-met-your-mother-sequel-series-starring-hilary-duff-is-coming-to-hulu.html Wed, 21 Apr 2021 19:28:56 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/a-how-i-met-your-mother-sequel-series-starring-hilary-duff-is-coming-to-hulu.html [ad_1]

That Lizzie McGuire reboot sadly never found its way to Hulu, but we’re getting the next best thing: Hilary Duff will star in a How I Met Your Mother spin-off sequel series at the streaming network, called How I Met Your Father. Suit up!

And the news just gets better. Deadline reports the series has been given a ten-episode order, which means that barring some strange and unlikely event, we will definitely get to see it. Binge-watch challenge accepted.

The original How I Met Your Mother ran from 2005 to 2014 and chronicled, in a series of flashbacks, how lovelorn architect Ted (Josh Radnor) met and fell in love with a series of women until he finally found his one true love, the mother of the children he was telling these stories to.

When the series ended, a pilot for a female version, How I Met Your Dad, was planned and even filmed for CBS. It starred Greta Gerwig, and the characters weren’t related to the original HIMYM gang; it just had a similar premise. After that didn’t go forward, recounts Deadline, there were more takes and more updates, and now, finally, a script from This Is Us showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger will make it into production.

The series is being described as a “spin-off” starring Duff as “Sophie,” protagonist and storyteller, though it’s unclear if or how the new series will be related to the original. It’s not like she’s the secret third Mosby kid or anything.

Said original series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas in a statement, “Kids, I’m going to tell you an incredible story: It’s the story of how two writers got lucky enough to make their dream TV show for nine seasons and now get to pass the torch to an inspired new creative team with their own incredible story to tell, the story of How I Met Your Father. We are honored by their passion and vision, and look forward to helping them tell a legendary new story. Thanks to all the HIMYM fans out there who waited for it.”

Added Duff, “I’ve been incredibly lucky in my career to play some wonderful characters and I’m looking forward to taking on the role of Sophie. As a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother, I’m honored and even a little nervous that Carter and Craig would trust me with the sequel of their baby. Isaac and Elizabeth are brilliant, and I can’t wait to work alongside them and all of their genius. Just fangirling over here getting to join the Hulu Originals and 20th families. I realize these are big shoes to fill and I’m excited to slip my 6 ½’s in there.”

Hilary Duff Explains Why She Wanted Her Son in the Room When She Gave Birth https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/hilary-duff-explains-why-she-wanted-her-son-in-the-room-when-she-gave-birth.html Mon, 19 Apr 2021 13:55:04 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/hilary-duff-explains-why-she-wanted-her-son-in-the-room-when-she-gave-birth.html [ad_1]

Hilary Duff is keeping everything open and honest in her family, especially when it comes to childbirth. Long gone are the days of “the stork is bringing you a sibling.” Instead, Duff revealed she wanted her son, Luca, in the room when her second daughter, Mae, was born in March.

Per People, the Younger star revealed on the Informed Pregnancy podcast that “it was kind of important for me [for Luca to be there] because I’m really big on being open and honest with him about how strong women are and what childbirth looks like.” That being said, Duff said Luca  walked in “right as I was pulling the baby out”: “He wanted to be there for it, but it happened so fast he missed it.” She said her older daughter, Banks, came in the room ”after the fact.”

Luca is Duff’s son with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie. She shares her daughters, Banks and Mae, with her husband, Matthew Koma. And as a modern family, they don’t condone any female body shame. “[Luca] knows all about periods, and it’s important for me to normalize that conversation with him for all the women that are going to be in his life,” Duff said.

Hilary Duff delivered Mae at home, surrounded by her husband, the doula, her mother, and a team of midwives. She also had an at-home water birth for Banks; Luca, meanwhile, arrived in a hospital.

“I want [Luca] to someday when he’s ready to have a child with his partner or wife or whatever, I want him to be able to respect the way that she wants to be able to have a baby, and if that’s at home, that can be at home, if that’s in a hospital, it will be hospital,” explained the Lizzie McGuire actor. “There’s many different ways.” Amen.

Hilary Duff Says She Has ‘Lighting Crotch’—Which Is Actually a Common Pregnancy Pain https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/hilary-duff-says-she-has-lighting-crotch-which-is-actually-a-common-pregnancy-pain.html Fri, 12 Mar 2021 16:56:48 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/hilary-duff-says-she-has-lighting-crotch-which-is-actually-a-common-pregnancy-pain.html [ad_1]

We are so in love with Hilary Duff’s positive, unfiltered, honest approach to pregnancy and motherhood. The Younger star, who shares son Luca with her ex, Mike Comrie, and daughter Banks with husband Matthew Koma, is currently expecting her third child. And though by baby number three she’s definitely a prenatal veteran, every pregnancy is different, and this one includes a not-so-fun surprise: lightning crotch.

Duff revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, currently guest-hosted by Brooke Baldwin, that while this has been the “best” pregnancy of the three, she’s also dealt with brief but intense bursts of pain right where the kid comes out. “I texted my midwife the other day and I was like, ‘What’s up with the stabbing pains in my vagina? I’m not feeling this,'” said Duff. “It feels awful, like you’re being struck by lightning. And she just wrote back and she was like, ‘Oh, lightning crotch,’ like it was no big thing. And I was like, ‘This is quite traumatic.’”

“It’ll just strike and all of a sudden you’re, like, doubled over and then it’s gone,” she continued. Duff explained that as the body gets ready for labor, the baby drops lower, “so you can actually breathe…fill your lungs up with air, which I haven’t been able to do in months, but you get stabbing pains in your vagina.”

Hilary Duff isn’t alone. “Lightning crotch” is a pretty common third trimester issue, which is unfortunate for sufferers but comforting overall. Moms-to-be, it’s not just you! According to What to Expect, there is no clinical term for these painful pelvic symptoms, but thankfully, they are not a sign of any illness or distress. To relieve the pain, try wearing a support garment or finding a comfortable position. And if the “lightning strike” lasts longer than a few seconds, or is accompanied by another symptom, check in with your doctor.

The ‘Lizzie McGuire’ Cast Responds to the Reboot’s Cancellation: ‘It Just Seems Ridiculous’ https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/the-lizzie-mcguire-cast-responds-to-the-reboots-cancellation-it-just-seems-ridiculous.html Fri, 15 Jan 2021 18:07:48 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/the-lizzie-mcguire-cast-responds-to-the-reboots-cancellation-it-just-seems-ridiculous.html [ad_1]

We’re still bummed that the Lizzie McGuire revival never happened—and so is the cast. In a new interview with Vice in honor of the 20th anniversary of the show’s premiere, we got a little bit more info on what went down and why the reboot cancellation was so unexpected.

“When we did the read-through of the first two scripts, there were literally three rows of chairs and in each chair was some kind of a Disney executive. I mean, there were 25 of them in there. And they were laughing their asses off,” Robert Carradine, who played Lizzie’s dad, said in the Vice interview published on January 12.

He said the cancellation was a huge surprise, adding, “Every single step of that trajectory had to be green-lit by somebody who’s high up in the organization. So, you go to all that trouble and they decide at the last minute, out of the blue, that it needs to be more kid-friendly? I don’t get that.”

Hallie Todd, who played the McGuire matriarch, agreed, calling the whole thing “ridiculous.”

“I’m sad. We had the best time when we got together for those two episodes. It felt like no time had passed, except that all of a sudden these kids were adults,” Todd said. “It just seems ridiculous. There’s always more to it than you hear, and I certainly am not privy to those conversations in the back room.”

As previously reported, the central issue surrounding the reboot was, apparently, whether or not to depict a grown-up Lizzie McGuire realistically—as an adult who does adult activities, or, instead, as just a taller version of her tween-age self.

Prior to the announcement that Disney had canceled the reboot, the show’s star, Hillary Duff, spoke out on Instagram about making her character “authentic” and attempted to get the series moved to Hulu—which is owned by Disney—after a similar switch reportedly occurred with Love, Victor.

“I’d be doing a disservice to everyone by limiting the realities of a 30-year-old’s journey to live under the ceiling of a PG rating,” Duff wrote on Instagram in February 2020. “It’s important to me that just as [Lizzie’s] experiences as a preteen/teenager navigating life were authentic, her next chapters are equally as real and relatable.”

Then, on December 16, Duff announced that Disney had officially axed the Lizzie McGuire reboot. She reiterated, “I want any reboot of Lizzie to be honest and authentic to who Lizzie would be today. It’s what the character deserves.”

The ‘Lizzie McGuire’ Reboot Is No Longer Happening https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/the-lizzie-mcguire-reboot-is-no-longer-happening.html Wed, 16 Dec 2020 20:30:00 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/the-lizzie-mcguire-reboot-is-no-longer-happening.html [ad_1]

UPDATE: December 16, 2020: Sadly, Hilary Duff revealed that despite everyone’s best efforts, the Lizzie McGuire reboot isn’t happening. Read her full statement, below.

UPDATE: Thursday, January 9, 2020, at 8:25 p.m. E.T. — A Disney spokesperson told TVLine that production on the Lizzie McGuire reboot has shut down. The original series creator, Terri Minsky, has stepped down as the reboot’s showrunner. It was slated to premiere on Disney’s streaming platform, Disney+, this year. The age-old “creative differences” seem to be the cause of this rift.

“Fans have a sentimental attachment to Lizzie McGuire and high expectations for a new series,” a Disney spokesperson said to TVLine. “After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the series.”

According to TVLine, Minsky is an executive producer on the reboot, as well, though it’s not clear whether she will stay in that position. We’ll update this post with more information as it comes in.

Hilary Duff fans were thrilled to learn on August 23 that the singer-actor would be coming back to the role that made her famous: Lizzie McGuire.

The Disney show of the same name, which ran from 2001 to 2004 (plus a 2003 movie), followed the life of 13-year-old Lizzie and her best friends Miranda (Lalaine) and Gordo (Adam Lamberg) as they navigate all the ups and downs of teenage life. Another “character” was Lizzie’s animated avatar, who monologued her inner thoughts about all that was going on in her world.

There aren’t many details yet, but here’s everything we know.

The cast: Duff is definitely returning—and she’s excited. “The good news is, just like me and everybody who loved Lizzie and has grown up with her, Lizzie’s also grown up,” she said onstage during the announcement about the reboot. “She’s older, she’s wiser, she has a much bigger shoe budget, which is super exciting. She has her dream job. She has kind of the perfect life right now.” She revealed the the project has been in the works for a while on her Instagram.

“SURPRISE!!! I’ve been trying to contain this excitement for a loooong time while this has been in the works!” she wrote. “I am beyond excited to be home again, back with my girl ♥…and into her 30’s.”

Adam Lamberg is also returning to play Gordo, Lizzie’s best friend. “Gordo was an essential piece of the puzzle to what made the original Lizzie McGuire so authentic and beloved,” said Duff in a statement, per Entertainment Weekly. “I couldn’t imagine the series without him. I can’t wait for fans to see what he’s up to 15 years later and how he fits into Lizzie’s adult world.”
