Be careful what you post! Thanks to a misinterpreted comment, Gigi Hadid is walking back a rumor she didn’t mean to start about Rihanna’s pregnancy.

Just days after the world learned Rihanna was expecting her first child with her partner, A$AP Rocky, thanks to a stunning street style photoshoot, the Anti artist herself posted a sweet confirmation on Instagram. “How the gang pulled up to Black History Month,” Rihanna wrote on February 2, alongside a newer photo of her baby bump and some pics from the family photoshoot by Miles Diggs.

Like many of the hundreds of thousands of commenters on the post, Gigi Hadid responded to the photos with excitement and emojis. “?? three angels ?,” the model replied to the post—and that’s where things got crazy. Underneath Hadid’s comment, which has received over 25,000 likes, fans were suddenly getting hyped over the idea that Rihanna was pregnant with twins. 

It must have taken Hadid a few days to check her replies, but when she did, she felt the need to clarify. “I just caught word of this commotion ^ ?,” she wrote. “I meant rih/rocky/baby lol.” Lol, indeed.

A source told People that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky “couldn’t be happier” about their growing family. “Having a baby is something she was never focused on, but being with Rocky opened her up to the idea. She couldn’t be happier and is so excited to be a mom,” the source said “Everything Rihanna does, she does it her own way on her own timetable, and having a baby is no different. They’re just like any other pair of parents-to-be. Yes, they happen to be famous but they’re just the cutest, giddiest young couple that’s expecting kids.”

In May 2021, the rapper described Rihanna as “the love of my life” in an interview with GQ. He also referred to the Fenty mogul as “the One” while discussing why he favors monogamy to being single. “So much better when you got the One,” he says. “[Rihanna] amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones. I think when you know, you know. She’s the One.”

Gigi Hadid hasn’t been afraid to experiment with her hair these last few months. She’s been everything from blonde to bright red and now, the coolest shade trend: expensive brunette.

The supermodel unveiled her new look in an apt fashion: a new campaign for Moschino, shot by photographer Steven Meisel. You can see the photo here. Hadid’s hair is now a rich sunset brown, and for this shoot, it’s styled with super volume and a top-knot bun. It’s stunning. 

So what, exactly, is expensive brunette? “Expensive brunette is all about giving deeper hair energy, dimension, and detail,” says celebrity hairstylist Tom Smith, European creative director for Evo Hair. “It’s all too easy when going for a darker shade of hair color to apply one tone all over, a similar result to using a box dye at home. I’m of the opinion that it’s professional hair colorists’ responsibility to give our clients something they could never get at home, and so expensive brunette is all about adding detail and interest with multiple deeper shades to make the result more dimensional and expensive looking.” 

Smith continued, “In the celebrity world, it’s often ‘the bolder the better,’ hence why so many celebrities are blonde or choose obviously artificial shades for their own hair or use wigs. Now that a brunette can look equally as ‘expensive’ and ‘designed’ as brighter or bolder shades, it makes sense that many celebrities are interested in the deeper tones.”

If you’re interested in achieving a similar look, Smith has some suggestions for when you’re at the salon: “The key element to discuss with your hairstylist is that you don’t want one flat color all over. Expensive brunette is all about depth and dimension, and so you and your colorist should agree on the deepest shade and the lightest shade you want to see in your hair and then allow the colorist to place shades between in a way they see fit to enhance your hair cut…It’s key to make sure your colorist knows you want to be seen as an ‘exciting brunette,’ not edging towards being seen as a blonde.”

Zayn also gave an official statement to TMZ at the time: “I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid, and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details, and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private.”

Despite denying physically assaulting Yolanda, court documents reviewed by TMZ and elle.com confirmed that Malik pled no contest to at least one charge of harassment against the Hadids. According to TMZ, Malik will pay a fine and is “on 90 days probation for each count, totaling 360 days.” On top of the fine, Malik reportedly “must complete an anger management class and a domestic violence program.” (You can read more details about the charges here.) 

According to a source who recently spoke with People in December, Gigi Hadid has been leaning on her younger sister throughout the ordeal. “Gigi and Bella have grown closer since the Zayn and Yolanda incident,” the source said. “Bella has stuck by her side, as the situation has caused a lot of tension within the family.” 

The source continued by confirming previous reports that  Zayn and Gigi have broken up, but continue to co-parent their 15-month-old daughter, Khai. “Gigi is done with Zayn. She’s a really private person, so Bella has really been there to support her,” the source continued. “It’s been tough on all of them because they’re all so close. That’s her mom, but it’s still her baby’s father, even though their romantic relationship is over.”

They added, “This has not been easy on Gigi and has caused a lot of stress on relationships with her family.”

Back in October, a rep for Gigi told People, “Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time.”

Bella Hadid’s latest Instagram Story may or may not shed some light on her thoughts amid her sister’s reported split from Zayn Malik.

On October 28, the supermodel posted—and then deleted—a quote from the Instagram account @mystics_truth. “I can do nothing for you but work on myself. You can do nothing for me but work on yourself,” the post read underneath an illustration of a naked woman sitting thoughtfully on the beach. (You can see Bella Hadid’s since-deleted story here.)

This post comes after allegations arose that Zayn struck the model’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, during an argument at Gigi Hadid and Zayn’s Pennsylvania home back in September while Gigi was away in Paris. On October 28, Zayn shared a Twitter statement about the altercation just before TMZ broke the news:

“As you all know, I am a private person, and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all the poke and pick apart. In an effort to protect that space for her, I agreed not to contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago. This was and still should be a private matter, but it seems for now there is divineness, and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a matter in which she deserves, this has been ‘leaked’ to the press. I am hopeful, though, for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared, and more importantly I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves.”

Bella Hadid kicked off 25 in style, rocking an all-black ensemble on the streets of New York, her hair in voluminous waves with…do our eyes deceive us, or are those side bangs?

Yes, the model celebrated her 25th birthday by bringing back one of the biggest trends of the past few decades: the almost universally-flattering layered bang. All the cool kids know the more your hair covers just one eye, the better. She photos of Hadid’s side bangs here.

Now, Hadid’s ‘do may be courtesy of a wig–her mane certainly looks thinner in this recent Instagram post than in the photos from her night out–but regardless, the trend is notable. Hadid’s entire birthday outfit consisted of vintage ’90s pieces, and her kohl-rimmed eyes suggest a certain ’80s punkiness. All of which is to say: Bella Hadid is channeling the past in a major way.

Harper’s Bazaar reports Hadid’s birthday look is vintage Gucci, specifically the spring/summer 1998 collection designed by Tom Ford. Sis Gigi wore a St. John bustier top and pant set. Their brother Anwar and friends joined them for a night aboard a party bus, per The Daily Mail. A party bus! It’s giving prom night. More retro references.

We can’t pinpoint when, exactly, the side bang went “out,” but it was around the time of the shift to middle parts and away from skinny jeans. As Hadid is a millennial/Gen-Z cusper, she’s free to borrow freely from both generations’ aesthetics…but for final word on the matter, we’ll need to speak to Olivia Rodrigo. Should be easy, right? Not like she’s crazy busy?

You’ll notice in the birthday pics that Bella Hadid pulled a Rihanna and took a wine glass from somewhere with her down the block. Maybe side bangs are like wine itself: getting better with age.

Gigi Hadid is celebrating her baby sister’s 25th birthday with a new photo of her daughter, Khai.

Gigi shared the sweet snap of Bella Hadid holding her one-year-old niece to Instagram on October 10. In the snap, the supermodel and Khai are both wearing cozy sweater sets and seem fascinated by a couple of party balloons.

“We celebrate you today and every day @bellahadid: She’s my baby sister but also a firecracker of a spiritual body guard ? and a forever protector as an auntie,” Gigi captioned the post. “I have so much pride watching you take ownership of your growth and fulfillment, and I know everything that you have created for yourself will bring you the year of joy and light you deserve !!!!!! Can’t wait. 25! I love you more every sun-lap.”

Gigi Hadid and boyfriend Zayn Malik share photos of their baby girl sparingly and have yet to show Khai’s face in photos since welcoming their daughter in September 2020. Back in July, she asked fans, publications, and the paparazzi to respect that choice.

“We have never intentionally shared our daughters [sic] face on social media,” the new mom wrote on Instagram stories. “Our wish is that she can choose how to share herself with the world when she comes of age, and that she can live as normal of a childhood as possible, without worrying about a public image that she has not chosen.”

She continued, “It would mean the world to us, as we take our daughter to see and explore NYC, and the world, if you would PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE blur her face out of the images, and if and when she is caught on camera, I know it’s an extra effort, but as a new mom, I just want the best for my baby, as all parents do… and I hope this can continue the conversation to protect minors in the media, even if they come from a public family.”

This has been a nonstop week for Gigi Hadid. The supermodel has walked in several shows for New York Fashion Week, and now she’s at the Met gala. Sadly, she wasn’t accompanied by boyfriend Zayn Malik. My guess is he’s at home babysitting Khai, the daughter he and Hadid welcomed in September 2020. She confirmed her pregnancy in April 2020 after the news leaked.

“Obviously, you know, we wish we could’ve announced it on our own terms, but we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well-wishes and support, so…,” Hadid said at the time on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I’m trying [to be present for every part of it]. Especially during this time, it’s a nice silver lining to be able to be home and together and really experience it.”

Because Gigi Hadid was very present during her pregnancy, she didn’t share much of it on social media. “I have been taking a lot of pictures of my bump and sending it to friends and family, and it’s been really cute and exciting…. I’m trying to document it well, because I’ve heard a lot of people say, ‘Make sure you don’t miss it,’” she said on Instagram Live. “And I will be sharing stuff like that in the future. I just am not rushed to do it, and I feel like right now I just want to experience it…. I just don’t want to worry about waking up every day during my pregnancy and, like, worry about having to look cute or post something.” 

Gigi Hadid is mom to her nine-month-old daughter, Khai. You wouldn’t know it scrolling through her Instagram of adorable baby snaps, but she had a lot of anxiety about being a first-time mom. And she opened up about this in a new Harper’s Bazaar cover story.

“During my pregnancy, I had one journal that I called my good journal and one journal that I called my bad journal. They weren’t that literal, but one was more for the memories, for Khai,” Hadid explains about how she coped with her anxiety during her pregnancy. “Maybe one day I’ll give her the bad journal just to be real about it. [It has my] anxieties and days where I felt like, ‘Am I good enough to be a mom?’ I didn’t want to feel guilty about feeling those things or writing those things down. I just liked the separation.”

The model says that journaling was one of her main hobbies while being pregnant during the COVID-19 pandemic. “I also have sketch pads where I’ll watercolor-sketch, and sometimes I end up writing there too. I write on the back of receipts and keep those in a notebook,” she says. “I’m not particular about it, and my journals are everywhere around the house. I just pick up whichever one is closest to me and write.”

Gigi Hadid admits that quarantine wasn’t the first time she dabbled creatively with a variety of hobbies. “I deal with a lot of things through just sitting and thinking and writing,” she says. “People made jokes when COVID hit, like, ‘Oh, Gigi, you’ve been practicing quarantine for years now,’ because when I had a few days off, I would drive to the farm from the city and be with myself in my little cabin, making a resin chair or drying flowers.”
