Marriage is one thing, but tattoos are forever. In the latest episode of Cardi B’s Facebook Watch series Cardi Tries, the rapper and her husband gave each other matching ink. Cute. Also, brave.

In the video Cardi explained that she would like to give Offset a tattoo in exchange for one of her own—at least, after they’ve both learned from his favorite artist, Nikko Hurtado. Offset was initially hesitant, claiming that his wife doesn’t know how to draw, but the pair ultimately agreed to tattoo the date of their wedding, September 20, 2017 (9.20.17), which wouldn’t require too much artistic skill.

Guided by Nikko, the pair learned the finer points of body art: tracing, practicing on a rubber arm, and eventually, inking the date on each other’s hands. Though Cardi said her tattoo hurt, Offset was a total pro under the needle. He didn’t flinch and even sang a little song. The best part? He’ll never forget their anniversary, which almost happened earlier in the episode.

Oh, you got a PS5 for your birthday? Cardi B gave Offset a check for two million dollars. Have fun with your game, though.

The hip hop power couple, who have been married since 2017, celebrated the Migos rapper’s 30th birthday in style, with a “sneaker-themed” party attended by fellow famous people, including Ye (the artist formerly known as Kanye West), The Game, Takeoff, French Montana, and Quavo, according to TMZ. 

Cardi B, wearing a Playboy bunny chain, and Offset, decked out in Louis Vuitton, danced the night away, pausing just long enough for Cardi to give her husband an oversized check for a cool two mil. It’s not just pocket money though. According to TMZ sources, the check will serve as seed money for his upcoming investments and business projects. It’s only fair, considering he got her a mansion for her birthday.

Cardi gave fans glimpses of the crowded party on her Instagram Stories, at one point posting that she was taking out “100k in singles” to make it rain dollar bills over the crowd. She also shared a look at the sneaker wall and a sweet painting of Offset as a baby being held by his grandmother.

Though the party was on December 21, Offset’s actual birthday is December 14. On that day, Cardi posted a sweet tribute to him on her Instagram grid, writing, “Happy birthday to my huuuuusband, best friend and babydaaadddyyy ??? . I love you so much and I’m so proud of you. We have overcome so much together. I love the man that you’re becoming and I love the father that you are.”

She continued, “Thank you for always being there for me, for being a great confidant and advisor and for never allowing me to sell myself short . I’m so lucky to have you as a partner raising our beautiful kids. You have soo many projects and businesses that you are managing and leading yet you have helped me so much in this journey wit our two babies. May life keep blessing you and you continue to thrive. I’m so excited for the world to see what you got coming ?. I love you!! We turning up tonight and next week for your party ?.”

“My two little kids, they have to lose so much time with their mommy because I get to go work and do what I love, so thank you, Nahla, thank you, Maceo—I hope you find something in life that you can love and you can do with as much vigor and as much zest as I do what I do. I love you guys,” she said.

Cardi B also has two children: three-year-old daughter Kulture and a son she welcomed earlier in 2021. 

“I could shake my ass, I could be the most ratchet-est person ever, I could get into a fight tomorrow, but I’m still a great mom,” Cardi B told Vogue in 2019. “All the time I’m thinking about my kid. I’m shaking my ass, but at the same time I’m doing business, I’m on the phone with my business manager saying, ‘Make sure that a percentage of my check goes to my kid’s trust.’ I give my daughter so much love, and I’m setting her up for a future. I want to tell her that a lot of the shit that I have done in life—no matter what I did, knowing that I wanted to have kids made me go harder to secure a good future for my kids.”

It looks like Penn Badgley has some competition for Cardi B’s affection.

The rapper shared her enthusiasm at meeting certified vampire hottie Robert Pattinson at a British Vogue event on November 4. “Look who I met the other day! I felt like a teen!” Cardi wrote on Twitter the next day.

In the video, Cardi tells the camera, “Come on. Look at my friend, guys,” as Pattinson moves into the frame with a smile and pokes his tongue out for the camera. Cardi B also gave out a little scream, as someone who was 16-years-old when the first Twilight film debuted is contractually obligated to do. 

Still, you might notice that Cardi B’s Twitter profile picture remains a shot of Penn Badgley’s infamous You character, Joe Goldberg, and has not been changed to one of a broody Edward Cullen.

That surprise friendship began on October 17, when a fan reposted a video of Badgley talking about Cardi B while promoting the Netflix drama back in 2019. In the video, the Gossip Girl star praises Cardi for her “authentic” presence on social media, while describing his attempts as “pathetic.”

Clearly a fan, Cardi B retweeted the video, writing in all caps, “OOOOMMFFFGGGGGG HE KNOWS ME !!!OMMMGGGG!!!!!!Yoooo like I’m famous famous.” Yes, you really are, Cardi B!

Badley is less famous than Cardi B—at least if we’re going by social media followers. On twitter, Cardi has over 19 million, while Badgley currently has 551 thousand (which is not too shabby, but still). The actor was clearly surprised by the attention:

They took their Twitter friendship to the next level by making each other their profile pics and fans are still living for it. In fact, one hilarious follower saw Cardi’s post about Pattinson and went full Joe Goldberg on the rapper.

“I notice you had recently updated your status. To my disappointment, I discovered that it was a photo with another man,” they wrote, mimicking the tone of the serial killer’s internal monologue. “Surely, you posted this to make me jealous. The excitement you display in the video makes me question our relationship, but it’s okay. I can fix YOU.”

Frankly, this is what Twitter is for.

Is this her interpretation of French girl style, or a creation straight from the mind of Cardi B? The “Bodak Yellow” rapper kissed her husband, Migos rapper Offset, outside the Chanel store in Paris on Wednesday, September 29, while wearing a plaid jacket with metallic breast coverings. She paired this with heavy gold chains and, oh yeah, a gold headpiece that obscures the entire top half of her face.

It’s giving Daft Punk. It’s giving Flying Nun. It’s giving Watchmen. After over a year of seeing only the top half of my friends’ masked faces, it’s kind of a shocker to witness the reverse. The rare lower face-only reveal.

Cardi B has been bold with her fashion choices since giving birth to her son in early September. She recently rocked a red sequined and feathered ensemble from Thierry Mugler that was part Carnival, part Beach Blanket Babylon, and all fabulous.

In addition to giving the world looks and babies, Cardi B somehow finds time to bless us with music, too. She had a killer verse on Lizzo’s comeback single “Rumors,” and appeared in the video, too. 

“I definitely called Cardi ’cause she’s, I mean, she’s incredible,” Lizzo told E.T. Canada about the collaboration, per Revolt. “I’ve been wanting to work with her for years. Ask anybody at Atlantic [Records], the day she got signed I was like, ‘I want a song with Cardi B!’”

She continued, “So, when I finally had a song on the level, that was perfect for us, I hit her up and sent it to her and she loved it and sent her verse through. Because of COVID, you know, we couldn’t be together, but we FaceTimed. The rest is herstory.”

Cardi shot the video while pregnant and wears, come to think of it, metallic gold on her chest and in her hair. So maybe this is just her look for 2021? Screw polyester, am I right? It’s all about plating yourself in precious metals.

Cardi B is officially a mom of two!

On September 6, the rapper shared the huge news on Instagram via a family photo with her husband Offset and their newborn from her hospital bed. The baby, whose name has yet to be revealed, was born on September 4, according to the photo’s caption. 

“We are so overjoyed to finally meet our son,” the couple said in a statement shared with People. “He is already loved so much by family and friends and we can’t wait to introduce him to his other siblings.”

In celebration of their baby boy, the family photo featured a blue blanket, blue heart emoji, and dinosaur emoji. Offset is also wearing blue, though the couple added a bit of their signature flair for luxury by draping a Louis Vuitton blanket over their bed.

The rap power couple announced the second pregnancy together in June 2021 during a performance at the 2021 BET Awards, then confirmed the happy news on Instagram, where Cardi posted a stunning portrait captioned, “#2! @offsetyrn.”

Cardi B and Offset have been married since 2017, despite a brief separation in 2020, and share a three-year-old daughter. Kulture, who was born in July 2018, just celebrated her latest birthday with a massive party involving carriage rides, a petting zoo, bowling lanes, and much more. Even Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella were reportedly in attendance. Of course, Cardi B made sure everyone knew who the real princesses were by dressing herself and Kulture in matching pink tulle ballgowns.

However, no princess outfit is complete without jewels. According to Cardi B, Offset gifted his daughter with a Richard Mille watch, and Cardi gave her a charm necklace from Elliot Eliantte. The diamond-encrusted chain featured charms including Minnie Mouse, a pink bow, the Chanel logo, and a K, for Kulture.

All this to say, Kulture’s new baby brother better prepare for a good time. Congratulations, Cardi B!

Lizzo took to Instagram Live on Sunday, August 15, to address some of the negative comments online sparked by her new video “Rumors” with Cardi B.

“It’s fatphobic, it’s racist, and it’s hurtful,” she said of the trolling she’s gotten throughout her career. “What I won’t accept is y’all doing this to Black women over and over and over again, especially us big Black girls.”

She added, “When we don’t fit into the box that you want to put us in, you just unleash hatred onto us. It’s not cool. I’m doing this shit for the big Black women in the future who just want to live their lives without being scrutinized or put into boxes.”

Lizzo explained that her music and art is all about inclusivity and acceptance, which doesn’t negate her Blackness (or make her part of the “white gaze,” a conversation that sprang up on Twitter). “I make Black music, period,” she said. “I’m not serving anyone but myself. Everyone is invited to a Lizzo show, to a Lizzo song.”

Cardi B, who has a verse on “Rumors,” took to Twitter to back Lizzo up, writing, “When you stand up for yourself, they claim you’re problematic & sensitive. When you don’t they tear you apart until you crying like this. Whether you skinny, big, plastic, they going to always try to put their insecurities on you. Remember these are nerds looking at the popular table.”

She also defended the song’s chart performance, tweeting, “Rumors is doing great. Stop trying to say the song is flopping to dismiss a woman emotions on bullying or acting like they need sympathy. The song is top 10 on all platforms. Body shaming and callin her mammy is mean & racist as fuck.”

Chloe Bailey and Octavia Spencer both spoke out on Lizzo’s behalf as well: 

As for Lizzo, it seems she’s staying positive. On Sunday afternoon (August 15) she tweeted, “Loving yourself in a world that don’t love u back takes an incredible amount of self awareness & a bullshit detector that can see through ass backwards societal standards… if u managed to love yourself today I’m proud of u. If u haven’t, I’m still proud of u. This shits hard.” She then shared a short video of herself laughing and revealing her stash of Grammys and other awards, writing, “Sometimes I get sad… and then I—”

How many of her haters have a trophy wall in their homes? None? Yeah, that’s what I thought.

What you’ve heard is true: “Rumors” is the first single from Lizzo’s new era, and it’s a collaboration with Cardi B! 

The song and video dropped just after midnight on Friday, August 13, and features the two women in glamorous Greco-Roman-inspired getups. Lizzo sings among painted pottery, then dances atop columns with her crew, until (a pregnant) Cardi pops in for her verse. 

The song is catchy and very fun. I can imagine there are already half a dozen TikTok dances in the works, and that horns section? Play it again!

“While you’re spendin’ all your time tryna break a woman down / Realer shit is goin’ on, baby, take a look around / If you thought that I was ratchet with my ass hangin’ out / Just wait until the summer when they let me out the house, bitch,” Lizzo says on the song. Yes.

The title has already trended on Twitter alongside “Hercules,” with many fans noting the visual similarity to the seven muses. 

“Can we talk about the stunning fashion and looks??” asked one fan. 

Chloe Bailey, one half of Chloe X Halle, praised the song too, tweeting, “All the rumors are true yeaaa,” and then adding, “Whooo @lizzo @iamcardib ATE DOWNNNN . song been on repeat all morning. any time i feel down ima put that song on.”
