Billie Eilish is known for having an especially deep connection with her fans, a trait that is naturally most visible during her live shows. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that Eilish’s Happier Than Ever tour, which kicked off less than a week ago, is already making headlines for how the artist has prioritized her fans’ safety.

According to TMZ, the singer paused a show in Atlanta on Saturday, February 5, after she noticed a fan was struggling to breathe. The 20-year-old reportedly asked for the music to stop and then requested help from the stage crew and offered an inhaler to the person in need. In video taken of the event, she is seen instructing the staff and crowd on the fan’s care: “Guys, give her some time. Don’t crowd.”

After help arrived, Eilish seemingly took aim at Travis Scott, who has been under fire for continuing to perform despite a crowd surge that turned deadly at the Astroworld Festival. (Eight attendees reportedly died, while countless more were injured.)

“I wait for people to be okay before I keep going,” Eilish told the crowd at her show on Saturday. According to reports, the crowd cheered loudly after her comment.

This isn’t the first time Billie Eilish has paused a performance in order to make sure her fans were safe. In one video posted in 2018, the singer stops her hit single “Ocean Eyes” to give water to someone who was about to pass out. In another, taken at a show in Milan, Eilish checks in with the crowd before continuing on with her show.

Billie Eilish Was Secretly a Redhead for a Week https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/billie-eilish-was-secretly-a-redhead-for-a-week.html Mon, 03 Jan 2022 19:59:36 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/billie-eilish-was-secretly-a-redhead-for-a-week.html [ad_1]

Billie Eilish is continuing to test the waters when it comes to her hair color.

After transitioning her longtime black hair with green roots to platinum blonde—which took six weeks to accomplish—it seemed Eilish decided to go straight for brunette when she debuted her deep chocolate fringed bob back in December 2021. However, it turns out the “Ocean Eyes” singer took a pit stop in the land of auburn hair in November for a week without showing fans…until now.

In the early hours of January 3, Eilish prompted fans to pick random dates from 2021 for her to share photos or videos from on Instagram Stories. When one fan chose November 22, the singer revealed that she secretly went red for a very short period of time.

“Took the blonde out and went red for a week hehe,” Eilish wrote on top of the video from the hair salon chair.

Sure enough, by December 2, she was posting selfies of her fresh brunette look:

Billie Eilish didn’t explain her decision to part from the red after just a week. Perhaps it was simply how the dye took to her platinum hair as she transitioned from light to dark. Maybe she just didn’t end up liking the auburn look.

Whatever the case may be, she has spoken in the past about her fondness for changing things up. “I’ve had different-colored hair and vibes for everything I’ve ever done. I wanted [Happier Than Ever] to have its own thing,” Eilish told Elle in September 2021. “The other day, I posted a video from when I had green hair, and I saw people go, ‘I miss this Billie, the green-haired Billie.’ I’m still the same person.”

Still, another reason for the change from bright green to blonde was practical, if not a little heartbreaking. “I couldn’t go anywhere with that hair because it was so obviously me. I wanted anonymity,” Eilish also told Elle. After going platinum, there was more freedom. “I went to a park with a friend, and I was like, ‘No, I can’t take off my hood!’” she continued. “I was terrified of the paparazzi and these stalkers I’ve had. But my friend was like, ‘Don’t worry: You’re okay. Nothing’s gonna happen.’ And I took my hood off, and I felt like a new person.”

Billie Eilish’s Best Looks of 2021 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/billie-eilishs-best-looks-of-2021.html Sun, 26 Dec 2021 17:00:00 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/billie-eilishs-best-looks-of-2021.html [ad_1]

In the world of music, nobody had a more dramatic image transformation this year than Billie Eilish. The Grammy-winning artist first shook up the music world when she debuted platinum blonde hair in March 2021—a drastic change from the neon green and jet-black locks she had going for two years.

The move was about growth and exploration just as much as it was about anonymity (the artist admitted she could barely leave the house without being recognized by her green roots), but Eilish didn’t stop there. In May the “Ocean Eyes” singer welcomed her Happier Than Ever era with a corset-clad photo shoot that practically broke the internet.

At the time, Eilish knew the shift from baggy head-to-toe looks to something vampier would draw attention and criticism. “Suddenly you’re a hypocrite if you want to show your skin, and you’re easy and you’re a slut and you’re a whore,” she told British Vogue. “Showing your body and showing your skin—or not—should not take any respect away from you.”

And many months later, Eilish doesn’t know why it’s still such a big deal. “It was supposed to be a specific aesthetic for a photo shoot, and then it was like, ‘Billie Eilish’s new style’ and people kept being like, ‘Wow, her new style, it’s so much better than the old style.’ Or like, ‘Wow, I wish that we could have her old style back, I’m so sad that she’s just changed into this,’” she recently told Vanity Fair, per BuzzFeed

She continued, “It was so weird because I was like, ‘It’s not a new style; it’s one thing I wore and then I’m gonna wear this another day and then I’m gonna do this.’ Literally, the thing that I’ve been preaching about since I first started is to wear what you want.”

And while it’s true Eilish stepped out of her comfort zone in 2021—that iconic Met-gala moment will go down in history—it’s not like she’s left her oversized streetwear in 2020. Here, let’s look back on Billie Eilish’s biggest style moments of 2021.

Billie Eilish Just Dyed Her Hair Chocolate Brown https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/billie-eilish-just-dyed-her-hair-chocolate-brown.html Fri, 03 Dec 2021 16:53:18 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/billie-eilish-just-dyed-her-hair-chocolate-brown.html [ad_1]

Blonde Billie has left the building. Billie Eilish just unveiled another dramatic hair change, this time taking a walk on the brunette side.

In an Instagram Story on December 2, Eilish posted a close-up of dark brown bangs hanging over her eyes, with the caption “Guess what?” Shortly after, she revealed the new look in an Instagram post: Her hair is now a deep brunette, and she’s maintaining her prominent bangs.

The dark brown looks fantastic on the “Happier Than Ever” singer, though it’s not surprising for someone who previously pulled off black, blue, platinum blonde, and neon green. That’s called range, folks.

“I couldn’t go anywhere with that hair because it was so obviously me. I wanted anonymity,” Eilish told Elle magazine about her signature black and green hair and why she decided to go blonde.

Finally, when she took the platinum plunge, things changed. “I went to a park with a friend, and I was like, ‘No, I can’t take off my hood!’” she told Elle. “I was terrified of the paparazzi and these stalkers I’ve had. But my friend was like, ‘Don’t worry: You’re okay. Nothing’s gonna happen.’ And I took my hood off, and I felt like a new person.”

She also told Elle she dyed her hair blonde to reflect the vibe of her new music era. (She released her second studio album, Happier Than Ever, in July.)

“I’ve had different-colored hair and vibes for everything I’ve ever done. I wanted [Happier Than Ever] to have its own thing,” Eilish said. “The other day, I posted a video from when I had green hair, and I saw people go, ‘I miss this Billie, the green-haired Billie.’ I’m still the same person.”

So with this new dye job, can we expect a new project on the horizon? Only time will tell.

Billie Eilish Changed Her Mind About Not Revealing Her Tattoos—And Showed Fans All Three https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/billie-eilish-changed-her-mind-about-not-revealing-her-tattoos-and-showed-fans-all-three.html Wed, 01 Dec 2021 19:10:44 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/billie-eilish-changed-her-mind-about-not-revealing-her-tattoos-and-showed-fans-all-three.html [ad_1]

Billie Eilish is finally ready to share her tattoos with the world. Like so many young people, she’s changed her mind about her look, her skin art, and how much of it she’s willing to reveal. She just told fans about all three of her tats–and they’re really cool.

For the past five years, Eilish has sat down with Vanity Fair for a “Same Interview” every November and last year told the magazine fans would “never see” her one tattoo. But in the latest iteration of the get-together, Eilish reveals she’s had a change of heart. At the 17-minute mark, she says that despite insisting the year prior her tattoo would remain under wraps, she’s happy to reveal it now. And also: She has three tats total.

There’s one on her sternum that says “Eilish,” because, in Billie’s words, “Yes, I love myself.” On her thigh is a “big boy” dragon, visible when she wore a gown with a high thigh slit to the Met gala. And the newest is a smattering of dainty fairies on her hand, an illustration from the book Fairyopolis. “They’re like my little guardian angel fairies,” she says.

Despite her mom’s silent objections (sitting off-camera with her hands on her head), Eilish says she has “ideas” for more tattoos but is in no rush to get “all tatted up.” Right now, she’s satisfied with her three designs. “I feel like I’»m in a good zone with them,” she says.

Later in the video she reveals that all the furniture in her house reaches the floor because she hates having her feet under or nearly under things. (She says that is the scariest thing she’s ever experienced.) Oh, Billie Eilish, never ever change. Unless you want to. You’re 19, and you can do what you want.

I wonder what tattoo she’ll get next!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! this is a scent that i’ve been chasing for years and years. this is my favorite smell in the WORLD.??? fragrance has always been such an enormous part of my life and existence since i can remember, and it was a dream to create this scent and bring my ideas to life. this has been one of the most exciting things i’ve ever done. i can’t wait for it to be yours so soon!!!!!”

According to the press release, the fragrance is “a warm, cozy scent that feels like home no matter where you are. [It] opens with sugared petals, accented by juicy mandarin and red berries. Eilish herself told Elle, “It makes me want to be curled up at Christmas.”

She continued, “It reminds me of when I was 14. I had this shirt, and it was like a mesh black turtleneck. I don’t know why it reminds me of that shirt, but it does. I think about the closet I had that shirt in. I had it in a big wooden closet in my room, and it kinds of smells like that. So that is what comes to mind.”

Billie Eilish Met Kate Middleton, and the Pics Are Iconic https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/billie-eilish-met-kate-middleton-and-the-pics-are-iconic.html Tue, 28 Sep 2021 21:30:06 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/billie-eilish-met-kate-middleton-and-the-pics-are-iconic.html [ad_1]

Kate Middleton, meet Billie Eilish.

The Duchess of Cambridge stunned at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Tuesday, September 28, attending the premiere of the latest James Bond flick, No Time to Die. And while there, she met with the young pop star who sings the movie’s theme, Billie Eilish.

It’s traditional for members of the royal family to attend the premiere of James Bond movies– after all, he’s a British icon. It’s also traditional for a big pop act to provide the movie’s signature song. Remember when Adele’s “Skyfall” was everywhere?

Though the release of No Time to Die was delayed again and again because of the pandemic, the song has been out for over a year.

Eilish wrote the tune with her collaborator and brother Finneas, who also attended the premiere. No word yet on what Middleton and Eilish chatted about, but hopefully Eilish will spill next time she’s on a talk show.

Both Billie and Finneas wore all-black ensembles for the premiere. Eilish recently attended the Met gala in a flowing gown but opted for a less-dramatic outfit this time around. One thing she’s kept is her chin-length platinum blonde hair, styled in loose waves, with her bangs framing her face. She recently revealed one of the reasons she likes the blonde is that it’s so much less recognizable than her signature green hair. “I couldn’t go anywhere with that hair because it was so obviously me. I wanted anonymity,” she told Elle.

She added, “I went to a park with a friend, and I was like, ‘No, I can’t take off my hood!’” she said. “I was terrified of the paparazzi and these stalkers I’ve had. But my friend was like, ‘Don’t worry: You’re okay. Nothing’s gonna happen.’ And I took my hood off, and I felt like a new person.”

The Real Reason Billie Eilish Dyed Her Hair Blonde Is Kind of Heartbreaking https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/the-real-reason-billie-eilish-dyed-her-hair-blonde-is-kind-of-heartbreaking.html Thu, 23 Sep 2021 20:56:50 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/the-real-reason-billie-eilish-dyed-her-hair-blonde-is-kind-of-heartbreaking.html [ad_1]

Billie Eilish made headlines when she debuted her Happier Than Ever-era platinum blonde hair back in March, but her reason for the dramatic change was all about “anonymity.”

When Eilish first opened up about transitioning from what was quickly becoming her signature black hair with green roots, the Grammy-winning artist told Ellen DeGeneres that she did so on a whim. “I had been wanting it blonde for a while, I don’t know what came over me,” she said in May. “I saw a fan edit when I had green hair. It was me with whatever hair color I had, and they just edited blonde hair on me and I was like, ‘Ah, it’s so sick; I want it.’”

But now, over four months later, Eilish has revealed a deeper reason for the dye job. “I couldn’t go anywhere with that hair because it was so obviously me. I wanted anonymity,” she told Elle magazine in a new interview. With the blonde hair came a new sense of freedom.

“I went to a park with a friend, and I was like, ‘No, I can’t take off my hood!’” she said. “I was terrified of the paparazzi and these stalkers I’ve had. But my friend was like, ‘Don’t worry: You’re okay. Nothing’s gonna happen.’ And I took my hood off, and I felt like a new person.”

That’s honestly heartbreaking to hear. Luckily, her hair was able to handle the intense treatment. At the time, she told DeGeneres that she was worried she wouldn’t be able to pull the style off. “I thought of it as a dream. I didn’t think it was gonna happen because my hair’s been through so much,” Billie Eilish said of the process, which took six whole weeks. “I thought I would burn it all off if I tried [to go blonde]. But I did it!”

As for choosing to go platinum, specifically, it doesn’t actually get much deeper than her original statement. “I had no goal of ‘This is going to make everybody think differently of me.’ I’ve had different-colored hair and vibes for everything I’ve ever done. I wanted this album to have its own thing,” Eilish clarified to Elle. “The other day, I posted a video from when I had green hair, and I saw people go, ‘I miss this Billie, the green-haired Billie.’ I’m still the same person. I’m not just different Barbies with different heads.”

Billie Eilish’s Stunning Met Gala Look Is Marilyn Monroe Meets Barbie https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/billie-eilishs-stunning-met-gala-look-is-marilyn-monroe-meets-barbie.html Mon, 13 Sep 2021 23:03:55 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/billie-eilishs-stunning-met-gala-look-is-marilyn-monroe-meets-barbie.html [ad_1]

Billie Eilish just hit the 2021 Met gala carpet looking like if Marilyn Monroe were a Disney princess. Seriously, her look is absolutely stunning.

The 19-year-old pop star turned heads and made jaws drop in a peach-colored gown with a hoop skirt and massive train. Her short blonde hair was giving classic Hollywood—in fact, the whole look was. Check it out for yourself, below. I’m speechless.

Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images

The look is by Oscar de la Renta, and Eilish said the inspiration was “holiday Barbie.” “It just was time,” she revealed during the Met gala live stream. “It was time for this, and I feel like I’ve grown so much in the last few years…I was just scared and didn’t feel comfortable in my skin, and I feel like I finally [do now]. It was time. ”

Theo Wargo/Getty Images

Billie Eilish has really stepped into her own this year. A few months ago, she did a corset photo shoot for British Vogue and said she’s taking her “power back.”

“It’s all about what makes you feel good,” she said. “If you want to get surgery, go get surgery. If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing, fuck it—if you feel like you look good, you look good.”

She added, “Suddenly you’re a hypocrite if you want to show your skin, and you’re easy and you’re a slut and you’re a whore. If I am, then I’m proud. Me and all the girls are hos, and fuck it, y’know? Let’s turn it around and be empowered in that. Showing your body and showing your skin—or not—should not take any respect away from you.”

Eilish is one of the co-chairs for tonight’s Met gala, which is themed “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” “I’ve been really impressed by American designers’ responses to the social and political climate, particularly around issues of body inclusivity and gender fluidity, and I’m just finding their work very, very self-reflective,” Andrew Bolton, the Wendy Yu Curator in charge of the Costume Institute, told Vogue. “I really do believe that American fashion is undergoing a renaissance. I think young designers in particular are at the vanguard of discussions about diversity and inclusion, as well as sustainability and transparency, much more so than their European counterparts, maybe with the exception of the English designers.”

It Sure Looks Like Billie Eilish Just Got a Short, Shaggy Bob https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/it-sure-looks-like-billie-eilish-just-got-a-short-shaggy-bob.html Tue, 24 Aug 2021 12:00:00 +0000 https://www.community-posts.com/lifestyle/it-sure-looks-like-billie-eilish-just-got-a-short-shaggy-bob.html [ad_1]

A hair chameleon if ever there was one, Billie Eilish never sits with one hairstyle for too long; instead, she keeps things exciting. That time she dyed her previously black and green hair platinum blonde, for one, nearly broke the internet. And her last look, the wolf cut, spurred a whole craze for what was previously a niche hairstyle.

Now the singer has done it again. In a video posted on Instagram with the caption “gone,” Eilish finger-tousles her new hairstyle, which falls an inch below her chin, just above her shoulders.

With lots of grit and texture and that now signature choppy fringe, Billie’s bob frames her face with lots of layers and movement and is very reminiscent of hairstyles from the ’70s and ’80s. Which seems like what she was going for since Eilish referenced a picture of her “mama” in her Instagram Stories.

With her ultra-cool look, the “Bad Guy” singer is clearly feeling herself, proclaiming she “loves it.” Keep an eye on this one–it’s soon to be everywhere.
