Ben Affleck has really outdone himself this time.

In a new post shared on Jennifer Lopez’s newsletter, On the JLo, the Marry Me star shared a nearly 4-minute music video created (or, more likely, commissioned) by her boyfriend. The “On My Way: The Remix” music video combines a performance of her song with photos and videos from their first relationship in the early 2000s. It ended with a sweet kissing selfie of the pair from their rekindled romance, which began in Spring 2021. 

Along with the video, which you can watch here, Lopez opened up about the significance behind Affleck’s “very special” gesture. “I am going to share something very special and personal with you that normally that I would only share with my inner circle,” she told subscribers, per The Daily Mail. “It’s an early Valentine’s Day present from Ben. Watching it made me think about the journey of true love, its unexpected twists and turns, and that when it’s real, it actually can last forever.’”

She added, “This seriously melted my heart.”

During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Jennifer Lopez revealed why her current relationship is built to last. “I don’t think we would have got back together if we thought that was where it was headed,” she said. “We feel like what we found again is so much more important, and how we protect that and how we live our lives—what to share, what not to share—is the balance that we have now, the benefit of experience and the wisdom that we gained over the years.”

This isn’t the first time she’s opened up about their unconventional “love story” with Affleck.

In early February, Lopez explained how they’ve changed as a couple since their 2004 split. “It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance,” Lopez told People. “Before we kind of put [our relationship] out there and we were naive and it got a little trampled. We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things. We’re so protective because it is such a beautiful time for all of us.”

Of course, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are in it for the long haul. Now that the once engaged pair are back together, they’re ready to go the distance. Lopez just said so in a new interview.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the Marry Me star revealed that she doesn’t see a breakup in her future with Affleck, despite their past. “I don’t think we would have got back together if we thought that was where it was headed,” she said. “We feel like what we found again is so much more important, and how we protect that and how we live our lives—what to share, what not to share—is the balance that we have now, the benefit of experience and the wisdom that we gained over the years.”

She also reflected on the horrible treatment the couple received from the media and public during the early aughts, and how it didn’t match the loving relationship she was in at the time. “It’s funny because Ben and I were together, and we were so in love…. It was one of the happiest times of my life,” she said. “But also there was this other thing happening where we were being criticized, and it really destroyed our relationship from the inside out, because we were just too young to understand at that time what were really the most important things in life.”

She added, “It was brutal. It’s one of those things that you bury very deeply so you can move on and get about your business.”

Thankfully, the waters of dating in the public eye seem to have calmed ever so slightly. They’ve been hitting red carpets together, looking happy as famous clams, and a source even says there might be another proposal soon.

In her latest Instagram post—a fairly straightforward promo for the women’s clothing brand Aritizia—the multi-talented star posed in a simple white outfit and cozy puffer jacket, which was the subject of her post. “Cosy morning in my Super Puff,” she wrote in the caption on December 21. 

And nothing says “this is just me doing my morning routine” than an (empty) coffee mug in hand. A cute ‘Gram for sure, but not much else to it, right? Wrong. Fans and followers were quick to note that the mug in question has a giant “B” design on it. Obviously, neither Lopez’s first nor last name starts with B. Nor do the names of her parents or her children, 14-year-old twins Emme and Maximillion. Her boyfriend, however…

“B AS IN BEN ?” wrote one commenter, echoing the feelings of many.

Honestly, a genius move. The rekindled romance between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck has been the talk of the town since they were first spotted together in April 2021, so this Easter Egg basically guarantees extra eyeballs on the post. It also low-key paints them as a “normal” and “relatable” couple with very minimal effort. He has coffee his own coffee mug at her place (maybe)! Perhaps he even took this picture! Truly, we are not knocking this. The couple was famously hounded by paparazzi the first time around, and the media was less than kind about the whole thing. So to see Affleck and Lopez turn the tables and control the narrative twenty years later? Good. For. Them.

Lopez even went on the offensive earlier this week, speaking out when Affleck’s recent comments about his struggles with alcohol abuse led some to believe he was blaming his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. When reports began to surface that Lopez was mad at him over the controversy, the singer told People on December 18 that “this story is simply not true.” 

She continued, “it is not how I feel…I couldn’t have more respect for Ben as a father, a co-parent, and a person.”  Hey, she’s got the mug to prove it. This is Jennifer Lopez’s world, and the rest of us are just living in it.

Jennifer Lopez denies rumors that she’s upset with Ben Affleck over a recent interview that sparked backlash online. 

On December 18, the singer told People that “this story is simply not true,” adding, “it is not how I feel. Lopez was engaged to Affleck back in 2002 until the pair called off the wedding in 2004. Nearly 20 years later, they reunited in April 2021 and have been hot and heavy ever since. 

“I couldn’t have more respect for Ben as a father, a co-parent, and a person,” she told People. 

This clarification comes after Affleck, who was married to actor Jennifer Garner from 2005-2018, made some controversial comments about his marriage and alcohol abuse during a recent episode of The Howard Stern Show. 

“I’d probably still be drinking,” Affleck said on the show, per People, referring to if he was still married to Garner. “It’s part of why I started drinking…because I was trapped. I was like, ‘I can’t leave because of my kids, but I’m not happy, what do I do?’ And what I did was drink a bottle of Scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution.”

“The truth was, we took our time, we made the decision. We grew apart. We had a marriage that didn’t work,” Affleck said, according to ABC News. “This happens.”

Shortly after the quotes went viral, a source told Page Six that Jennifer Lopez was “pissed” over the situation. “[Lopez] is pissed,” the source said. “She is getting pulled into this because she is dating him. She doesn’t want to be dragged into this.”

They continued, “She has met Jennifer Garner. She is trying to get to know her and Ben’s kids.”

However, another source at the time told Page Six, “This is simply not true and the focus is on the children.”

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on December 15, Affleck addressed the Howard Stern interview and suggested that the media “made it seem as if I was saying the exact opposite of what I said.”

He added that the following reports that he “blamed my ex-wife for my alcoholism and that I was trapped in this marriage” were not true and “just made me out to be like the worst, most insensitive, stupid, awful guy.”

He continued, “That’s not true. I don’t believe that. It’s the exact opposite of who I am, what I believe and I would never want my kids to think I would ever say a bad word about their mom…it hurts my feelings.”

In the interview on Howard Stern, Affleck also mentioned the hesitation he had about rekindling his relationship with Jennifer Lopez because of his kids. “My responsibility to my children is the highest responsibility I have,” he said. “I’m not doing anything that’s painful or destructive to them if I can help it. That being said, you know, I know that my life affects them.”

Despite being more than willing to hit the red carpet together and even pop up on each other’s social media feeds, the resurgent power couple Bennifer (Ben Affleck + Jennifer Lopez) isn’t spilling much in interviews. But in a new Wall Street Journal profile, Affleck opens up—a little bit. 

“I can say that it’s definitely beautiful to me,” he said about his reunion with Lopez, according to InStyle. “And, you know, one of the things I really value across all facets of my life now is that it was handled in a way that reflected that.”

He continued, “My life now reflects not just the person that I want to be, but the person that I really feel like I am—which is not perfect, but somebody who tries very hard and cares very much about being honest and authentic and accountable. It’s hard to say who benefits more, without going into gossipy detail.”

And to tease us further, Affleck added in the profile, “I could just say that I feel great about being very healthy. And it is a good story. It’s a great story. And, you know, maybe one day I’ll tell it. I’ll write it all out. And then I’ll light it on fire.” 

Unfortunately, that’s probably all we’re going to get from Ben Affleck. “You can write conjecture about it, but one of the harder lessons that I have learned is that it’s not wise to share everything with the world,” he told WSJ. “I know that I feel more comfortable having those healthy boundaries in my life around which, in a friendly and straightforward way, I tell you, I just don’t want to be talking about my personal relationship in the newspaper. I’m going to exercise a little restraint.”

Reports already surfaced that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck spent Thanksgiving together, but now we know a few more details.

A source tells People that after returning from filming her latest movie, The Mother, in Canada, Lopez flew in to celebrate the holiday with Affleck and her 13-year-old twins, Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

“Jennifer flew back to L.A. from Vancouver to celebrate Thanksgiving with her kids and Ben,” the source says. “The last few weeks have been intense for her.” According to the source, Affleck also celebrated with his own children, 15-year-old Violet, 12-year-old Seraphina, and nine-year-old Samuel, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. 

“It’s been hard for her to be away from her kids and Ben,” the source added. “She is very much looking forward to a short break.”

On November 25, Lopez shared a video recorded from her final day on set. “Hey everybody, it’s my last day here shooting on The Mother out in Smithers in the snow, it’s been beautiful, but tonight I’m on my way home,” she said. “I’m so excited for Thanksgiving! I hope everybody has an amazing weekend with their families and their loved ones, there’s so much to be grateful for this year. I’m on my way!”

According to a source that spoke to the publication, Lopez and Affleck are “doing really well.” They said, “Jennifer loves being with Ben. She feels it’s truly meant to be.”

While promoting her new movie Marry Me, which dropped its first trailer on November 18, Today show host Hoda Kotb asked if marry me were two words Lopez would like to hear again in the future.

“I don’t know. Yeah, I guess,” Lopez responded, adding, “I mean, you know me. I’m a romantic, I always have been. I’ve been married a few times. I still believe in happily ever after, for sure. One hundred percent.”

On November 25, the pop star shared an Instagram video featuring three adorable dogs she describes as her “squad.” According to People, the pup chilling in her lap is Tarzan, the dog the “Señorita” singer adopted with her ex, Shawn Mendes, last year.

It’s been a while (several weeks) since Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have blessed us with a very public display of affection. Maybe they were trying to give Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker their moment? But rest assured, Lopez and Affleck are doing just fine.

They reunited earlier this year on a trip to Montana following Lopez’s split from Alex Rodriguez, whom she was engaged to marry. Over the past few months, the couple have been displaying PDA all over the world, from Venice to New York City. Garner reportedly met up with her ex-husband and J.Lo to go trick-or-treating in Malibu with their kids, according to People. Garner and Affleck coparent 15-year-old Violet, 12-year-old Seraphina, and 9-year-old Samuel, while Lopez shares 13-year-old twins Emme and Maximilian with her ex Marc Anthony.

“Everyone gets along, and the focus is always on the kids,” a source told People. “Jennifer, Ben, and Jen Garner all wanted the kids to have an amazing Halloween. The kids are friends and wanted to go trick-or-treating together. It made sense that they all went together.” Fun! 

They added, “Ben is working today again, so they wanted to enjoy a family weekend.”

Garner and Affleck got married in 2005 and finalized their divorce in 2018. However, the pair seem to have a strong relationship as parents and were recently seen together at their daughter Seraphina’s sixth-grade graduation in June. 

As for Jennifer Garner’s feelings about Ben Affleck’s rekindled relationship with Jennifer Lopez, the Alias actor is reportedly all for it! “J.Lo has Jennifer Garner’s seal of approval,” an insider told Us Weekly in June, adding that the feeling is mutual. “J.Lo thinks Jennifer is a kind and wonderful person and an amazing mother.”

Back in May, another source told Entertainment Tonight, “Jen isn’t bothered by Ben hanging out with J.Lo or anyone else. She wants what is best for Ben.” They added, “What matters most to her is Ben being a great dad…. They’ve been in a good groove when it comes to coparenting for a while, and their kids’ happiness is Jen’s main priority.”

That same month Affleck paid tribute to Garner on Instagram in honor of Mother’s Day. “So happy to share these kids with you,” he captioned the post, though the actor has since left the app. “Luckiest parents in the world. Thanks for all the good you do. Happy Mother’s Day. Love, their Dad.”
