These Are the Things That Spark Joy for Marie Kondo

During the pandemic, as we all found ourselves at home more than we ever thought possible, you may have felt inspired to employ the famed KonMari Method: Marie Kondo’s organizing (and life) philosophy that consists of gathering your belongings, keeping only the items that “spark joy,” and letting go of the things that don’t.

But what sparks joy for Marie Kondo? As a new season of her Netflix reality series, Sparking Joy With Marie Kondo, hits the streaming platform, we found ourselves dying to know what the expert considers a fave for herself. Luckily, she was willing to answer.

Below, find our latest installment of Your Fave’s Faves.

The last thing I bought

Baby items! I just gave birth to my son in April, so most of my recent purchases are for him. The latest item I purchased was Coterie diapers. I received them as a gift and loved the quality, especially because the materials used are safe for my baby.

My favorite way to spend a day off

I love helping my girls make pressed flowers with the flowers they find on a walk. My daughters love to use the app PictureThis, a plant and flower identifier, to look up flower names when they are making them.

A storage solution everyone should know

My favorite kitchen storage solution is The Container Store x KonMari Kitchen Collection’s Wide Utensil Organizer With Diagonal Compartments. Because it’s a diagonal design, you can fit larger utensils that usually don’t fit in a drawer. You can give a permanent home for all of your kitchen utensils and can keep the countertop free of clutter!

The last great book I read

My husband turned me on to this book about human society and behaviors of people. It’s a Japanese book written by an anthropologist and primate researcher called I Learned My Life Lessons From Gorillas, and it was fascinating!

My go-to beauty products

I like Uka nail oil and Seiso J Beauty Pure Ceramide Concentrate. I love the Uka nail oil’s bottle design and packaging, and the high-quality ingredients and texture of the oil are great. Seiso’s Pure Ceramide Concentrate keeps my skin moist and supple.
